  • Yep, you are not the only one. I joined one of the challenges that are going around on this website, and one of the things this week is that you will have to do 10 reps of something you hate when you eat something you should not have eaten. So, if I eat any of those biscuits that are here (outside the ones that are planned…

  • Running burns the calories faster. Apparently walking and running 5km won't differ much in calories burned (I haven't tried this out, and I also haven't got the scientific research for it). But to run 5km takes less time than to walk 5km. Plus running works more on your cardio. About replacing 30 day shred with walking..…
  • I used to absolutely love the thing. Now I've got a bit of problems with it, but the Garmin support centre is trying to fix that... Must be just having a faulty one (my luck..). The only thing I don't like is that you cannot turn it off. I sometimes don't use it for a couple of days and even though I turn the GPS off, it…
  • Yep I'm with you. But mostly that is because it annoys me to have my MP3 player with me...
  • Good luck to you! Good idea to stick with it for 4 weeks - you are likely to see a little gain in the first 1-2 weeks, but after that it will come off twice as fast! There is a great thread on the forum about eating more to lose more, in case you're interested in other people's experiences:…
  • Yeah if you feel like it helps you then you should keep the drink part. But you could also do it per meal and then just remember that that adds 1 carb. As other people said, 1 carb does not make a big difference, but you have to do what feels good for you.
  • How would doing exercise make you lose less weight? Your diary is not open so I cannot check, but are you eating enough?
  • I cannot see your diary so going to guess here.. Could it be that there is less than 1 gram. So if you only eat 1 portion, it rounds it down to zero. But if you do 2 or 3 portions, it will average out to be 1 gram?
  • Have you seen a physiotherapist? They can help you strap your ankle up and give you exercises to strengthen it. My boyfriend got an elastic band he did al sorts of exercises with when he torn his ligament. Be patient! Putting too much pressure on it will only make the healing go slower.. or worse, take you right back to…
  • Depends on your current weight and fitness.. but the 30 day shred burned 150 calories for me. Your other burns seem right too. With the shopping..maybe your HRM did not get your heart rate through? That happens to mine sometimes when I am doing low intensity exercise. If it doesn't measure my heart rate, it doesn't measure…
  • Nope, I already don't like my job. But then it is a bit easier here because the economy is still doing well.
  • I went camping over the weekend - made me gain weight though. All one-pot recipes are great. We've discovered a great one with chicken fillet, onion, mushroom, french onion soup mix and a can of coke. Sounds ridiculous but is very yummy.
  • No problem - everyone is here to help! I could try and explain it - but have seen the best explanation possible on this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/206951-asked-my-trainer-re-eating-back-calories But do get back when you have more questions! PS: just be careful with MFP's calorie-estimation. I found…
  • Do some exercise to burn off some of those calories. Drink lots of water. Make healthy choices the rest of the day and be back on track tomorrow! Don't worry, everyone has days like this. The important thing is to get back into it straight after.
  • I absolutely know how you feel. We have candy and all sorts of biscuits, cookies, donuts etc. It helped me to tell the receptionist that I was not going to have any candies that day/week. The candies are at her desk, so she would see it if I would grap some. So knowing I had to break my 'promise' kept me away from them.…
  • What really helped me in the beginning is to run without any music and syncronise my breathing with my steps. 3 steps inhaling, 3 steps outhaling. Or 2 steps if you really need to. This make your breath regular. It still really helps me when I tend to get too tired.
  • Yeah I'm with you. I do it to cheat and then tell myself it is apparently good to have a spike day / cheat day. Although it takes at least half a week for my weight to recover so I'm really trying to cut down on them now.
  • Oh I have changed my mind. I just got a message from our local gourmet pizza place... pizzas for only $14 (usually 20-25) and most of them will be heart-shaped. We haven't been eating pizza for a long time because of me trying to be healthy so this might be my little present to him!
  • I think it is too commercial. I told my boyfriend 2 years ago that if he would give me anything for Valentine's day, I would break up with him. Haha! We might just open a bottle of wine though... Or maybe I can ask for a massage just because it is V day haha!
  • Hmm or he might just be teasing you? I also think that it is okay for you not to do anything. You did tell him that you don't like the day. Plus isn't it usually only the guy doing something romantic (or is this very old fashioned?)
  • Difficult one! I told my boyfriend that I think Valentine's Day is ridiculous and that he'd better not get me anything. But it will just make it awkward if you tell him that now... Uhmm if you can't think of something as a present why not spoil him with a massage or a nice dinner or something else he'd enjoy?
  • Haha my boyfriend says I'm one with changing buttons :) Well, it keeps it exciting I'd say :)
  • This sounds like a good idea. I don't have a personal trainer though, but am interested in other people's trainings.
  • I started having this problem when I started eating healthier. I added flaxseed (linseed for Australians) to my breakfast every morning and have an Activia every afternoon. It is much better now, I go once a day or every other day. Not sure which one of the two actually helped the most though haha. Am scared to quit one,…
  • Friend request sent - and bumped the thread so maybe more people will find this :) Good luck!
  • Yes, like the other people said: you are not eating enough! I know it does not sound logical at first. And maybe after reading up on it the theory will make sense. But it will still be scary. I suggest you search the forum.. there is a lot written about this. Search for the topic called something like 'People who lost…
  • Oh I absolutely hate time zones! I live in Aus as well, my whole family in Europe. I've got some friends in Canada... I get a random 'Hey, what are you up to' sms at least once a week when I am sleeping. Don't people get it?!
  • Confidence makes up for a lot. Just go and enjoy yourself. Stop thinking what strangers will think off you. You will never see them again. Have fun and enjoy, and people will enjoy looking at you!
  • Another idea: join one of the challenges that people set up on this website. Preferably a team challenge.. This works perfect for me. I sometimes don't want to go to the gym or go for a run.. but I will do the jumping jacks / crunches / stairs or whatever it is that is the challenge for the week just because I don't want…
  • Everyone has a day like that! The most important thing is that you are back on track today! Good luck with Jillian... she still kicks my butt!
