  • c4 & black coffee
  • Possibly your body is getting too efficient with the workout and you should look at switching it out for something new? I did T25 after Christmas and found after a couple of weeks it was way too easy even after 1hr of lifting in the morning.
  • I'm quite lazy and don't hit the gym until 630. Fasted cardio has its benefits but I lift and feel without a black coffee, pre-workout and some food, I'm definitely able to get through less work with less weight. I normally eat either oats & whey, muesli or greek yogurt. Cranking out a hard 90 mins in the gym on an empty…
  • Fantastic! Well done! As for Tryitonemoretime - there is nothing predetermined about peoples health. You can replace bad choices with good ones and not look back same way that some people quit cigarettes and it is FOREVER whilst others fall back into old ways.
  • Here's the Strength Standards for the major lifts (men and women's tables included) http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html
  • Firstly that is a fantastic achievement. Eat fruit if you want to, you are not breaking anything. The main thing is to make sure you maintain the discipline that got you the success in the first place - so only you can know if the eating fruit isn't a symptom of a general relaxing once you get closer to goal. I don't know…
  • De-loading's a good idea. Else try something different for a week. I dont know your splits but maybe try cardio circuits instead of chest, back, leg days etc or even a class so it's fun. If you pound the treadmill, try a spin class, if you row then body pump etc. It's supposed to be fun and also sustainable. If you're…
  • Great advice from the guys above. I pretend there's an apple I'm holding between my shoulder blades to keep my back from horse-shoeing. Deep breath and push the floor away - as fast as you can. Concentrate on speed, don't think about the weight as much. Good luck!
  • I haven't done P90X3 so this comment comes with a disclaimer. I did the original P90X and its a good starter program, the problem for me is that it's way too 'chatty'. I did Body Beast and you literally work harder in their 30 minute Bulk workouts than you do in the 60 odd min P90X. Not only did I think the workouts were…
  • hey I take the Cellucor also - i think it's really good. They definitely help me along with creatine. I work long hours and find the pre-workout gives me the buzz I need to get going. How much it helps intra-workout, a little maybe, but my problem is stepping over the line - once I've started working out, I'm pretty…
  • Whey protein is shuttled pretty quickly to the muscles, thats why it's effective because it is quick to digest. For me, agree that its not essential but personally, i couldnt do without - they are convenient and tasty. As for libido, when I'm doing a cut it drops and also if I'm too carb restricted. It makes sense anyway,…
  • Yes, quite simply extra water weight. Your body is using water to help rebuild muscle tears after the exercise. Don't worry about small swings. By means of example, conversely, if you got drunk tonight you'd probably weigh 3lbs less tomorrow as you are dehydrated...
  • Depends on how much you have to lose. Remember it took a lot longer to put on so take your time, it isn't a race. You will probably be happier with the results at the end if you don't rush it. Means you can retain lean muscle mass and not just burn it - you will look more toned and not the skinny-fat look some get. Also…
  • Well quitting is the single best gift you can give to yourself. Well done! In itself that is enough. Even if you put on a couple of pounds in the short term it's no biggie. That said, you want lose weight so you just gotta work out what works for you. You might find that with the better sleep you will be experiencing and…
  • 1 - Get a foam roller - they are wonderful 2 - Do something to put the blood back into the muscles - even if its light exercise or stretching 3 - Give it a try after a day or so - it's amazing how many times after a warm up you realize you are good to go 4 - Sometimes the longer you leave it, the more the DOMs can…
  • i did it once in the past at a hotel gym whilst travelling with work and having no idea where to run. Was boring but hey ho, ask yourself how bad do you want it
  • That's a pretty ambitious goal and I commend your enthusiasm. It probably took a LOT longer to put that on so be realistic as well - I wouldn't turn it into a race. It should be a lifestyle change you enjoy. To quote Tony Horton, "Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your body". I would focus on feeling better with…
  • Hey, I have bad wrists after a heavy fall a year ago, nothing like your issue but tweaky all the same. I use push up stands/bars (the cheap ones, not those perfect pushup things that twist about( . Not only do they give me a deeper range of motion but my wrists dont hurt when I use them (i typically do the 100 in a row…
  • Ouch,.. Well you fall off your horse, you get back on it - so well done! It's just taking that step forward and getting up again that counts. I'm on my 2nd go at this too. I only log my food once a month just to check that my macros are about right, the rest of the time i pretty much just keep a running balance in my head…
  • If I'd known about the DoucheDucks earlier I would definitely be in better shape by now :) I was a resolutioner in 2010 and I knew absolutely NOTHING apart from calories in and calories out and tbh, that was enough to help me lose 40 odd pounds in my first few months
  • Legs Day done. Technically it was a lunchtime workout so not sure if that qualifies :)
  • It's a brave step to go to the gym when you aren't in shape. Doesn't help if the regulars aren't particularly welcoming either or treat them like they dont belong. You pay your money, you got every bit as much right to be there as anyone else. I stopped going to the gym this year as my home gym is complete but newbies are…
  • When I started did P90X 3 1/2 years ago, I was pretty sore for the first week or so and know where you are coming from. I do think if you take an extra day between the workouts thats fine - the programs are just guidelines but dont need to be followed with the to the letter. I would stretch or workout light and concentrate…
  • I've worked my way through a few rounds of P90X, then Insanity, Asylum. I'm on my 3rd round of Body Beast and really like the shorter workouts on the Bulk phase - you can pour much more into them without consciously 'pacing yourself'. I have to say, I dont think I could put up with Tony's chatter again but in principal the…
  • Yeah, I think like the other poster said thats how men dimension the world. I'm far more likely to go to the sports results and standings in the newspapers before I read the match reports themselves. It's just how a lot of us work..
  • Feed cats - they're more worried about all the foodz than cuddles at that time of day Take pre-workouts 25 min powernap workout
  • It's weird how clinical and cynical the producers of this stuff are...
  • For me I just make it a habit not to eat anything like chocolate or candy. Once every 3-4 months i might plan to have have a pizza or some chocolate like at Easter or Christmas day or my birthday, other than not it's a no-no. I understand that budgeting calories works for some people, for me, abstinence is a lot easier.…
