My goals for next year are to: -lose 5 pounds a month -be pain free (I'm pretty sure my pain is due to either bad eating or too much weight on my poor little feet) -finish and publish a new book -have a solo art show -workout at least 3 -5 times a week EVERY week -meet a nice man who deserves me (in other words -not living…

Current Job: Instructional Designer/Trainer (which I do like) Dream Job: Author/Speaker/Coach (which I do now on a parttime basis but want to retire to do it as my only job on a parttime basis so I also have time to paint huge abstracts)

Is that a dvd or a book? I like to do tabata on the bike at the gym because I find cardio sooooo boring and it passes the time.
-
It was great to see the gradual change. What an inspiration. I need that lefthanded t shirt!
-
You look wonderful and you're a real inspiration to me because your height and weight starting is similar to mine. How long did it take you to lose that?
-
You look wonderful. You do look younger, on the other hand, you're boyfriend still looks like he's 12 but it looks like he grew a few inches! LOL You make a lovely couple.

Well I got my fitbit and started using it. It really does motivate you to up your activity. the best part was logging my sleep! OMG! Very scary. I was in bed for 7 1/2 hours and slept for 3 1/2. Perhaps I should start using my cpap again. I actually logged 182 steps all night. That was probably just kicking. Hard to keep a…

I'm in. I'll take some weights to work or a stretchy thing and do them when I am on boring teleconferences.

Good morning all. Looks bright outside but it's probably cold. I haven't been out yet so I don't know for sure. Last night I went out for drinks and appetizers with a friend. Great night, long deep conversations, red wine, great food - what more could you ask for. Connie, I am waiting for my fitbit to arrive and perhaps…

And besides I worked out this morning so I actually have over 900 calories left
-
Thank you all. You are right. I should enjoy myself without going nuts and then not let that throw me off.
-
I just did an ugly dance for you. It took me a minute to get in the groove but then I danced for a while. Thank you for that.
-
Oh thank you williamspeggy for saving me. LOL

Here's the good news - when you reach 60 like me, you finally start to express how you really feel and tell *****es like that to **** off and die. Here's the bad news, you can't then go back and slap all the people you wish you had slapped in the past when they were so cruel to you. I really wish I could go back to the…

OMG Me too! I thought it was just me and I took it sooo personally. So happy to know that there are other thread killers out there. Now if I've killed this thead I really will take it personally and I'll win the crown!

Good question. Thank you for that and for the answers. I am waiting for my fitbit to arrive and I never even thought of that. I keep reading that MFP is going to be synced with fitbit in the future. What exactly does that mean? Would we not have to enter something?

Swissmiss and others, what kind of HRM do you recommend?

Just a quick note before I run off to the dentist before work. Chris, you will love your Keurig. If mine broke down I would go get another one the same day. When you are just one person it's so easyt compared to making a pot of coffee. Delraybuzz, how wonderful for your sister! This morning in the team meeting I will hear…

Barbiecat, it's very scary when you can't control the dog. I have two knee replacements and really can't kneel. Putting weight on my knees hurts a lot so when I fall, first of all it hurts and it's scary because I don't want to injure myself and second, it's hard to get up because I can't get to my knees first. One day…

I have only been on MFP for less than a week but I have to say I LOVE IT. It is sooo easy to log your food. I haven't yet found a food that isn't in the database and it's very revealing to be able to go back and review where I made bad choices. I find it motivating and when I think about what to eat I sometimes actually…

Good morning all. I was up nice and early this morning. I think partly because I am feeling better and sleeping better because I am eating better - less foot pain in the middle of the night. But also because I was having uncomfortable dreams. I am supposed to be in Toronto today for work but couldn't make it due to an…

Oh sorry, I haven't turned my books into Kindle versions yet. Sorry.

I love Body for Life. Especially the training program. I went from just working out halfheartedly to seeing major changes and feeling like I was actually making a difference.
-
One of my books will change your life. Well, writing them changed mine anyway. I have four published. The first one is The Seven Day Mental Diet. It challenges you to stop thinking negatively and to stop negative thoughts from taking hold in your mind for a full 7 days. If you can do that, it will most definitely change…

I was on ideal protein for August and September of this year and lost 26 pounds. I loved that I was never hungry and had no cravings and I really like most of the food. But I have some sleep disorders and went through pure HELL for a few weeks. during that time, between midnight and 6 a.m. I would start to eat - and eat…

Sidesteal, what is PSMF/RFL I know LCD is low calorie diet and VLCD is very low calorie diet.
-
Just thought of something in defense of LCD. Last night I went to a presentation by a food scientist who works at a local health food store. He was telling us that a very LCD is the ONLY way that has been shown to slow aging. In fact, there's a whole movement out there of people who live on very LCD as a way to slow the…

Okay that's the diet I want to be on! LOL Can you imagine? It might be hard to maintain.
-
I absolutely agree. The Ideal Protein diet for example is about 800 calories per day and is primarily protein, very low fat and carbs. It's an excellent diet that many doctors recommend and you feel great on it and have no cravings. It is offered primarily in health care clinics, like chiropractors, and you are monitored…

Thank you all for the welcome. Yes Barbiecat, we are pretty isolated up here. I live in a city but the nearest other city is 7 hours away by car. Well there's also Duluth - that's only 3 hours. But I have to go to Toronto a lot for work and my son lives in Ottawa so I go there a lot too. I have been trying to maintain…
