When I was still breastfeeding I was losing weight eating 2200 calories a day. I started exercising after 6 weeks taking it very slow and working up to a typical workout. I also ate plenty of carbs like whole grains. You really shouldn’t be hungry when nursing...listen to your body:)

Hi! **waves** I'm new here...I've been off the MFP community boards for a couple of years now. Unfortunately, gained all the weight back that I had lost. JFT is exactly the philosophy I need!! So, here I am. Yesterday I bought a Fitbit and lifted at the gym for half an hour. JFT 1). Go for a 25 min run 2). Pick up a…

You are gorgeous!! And way too thin in the middle pic:wink:
-
You look awesome and your husband looks 20 yrs younger! Great work!!
-
She did not say she can't exercise.
-
I TOTALLY agree!

I'm confused on the attitude from LexyDB. The reality is that exercise gives a boost of energy that eating something just doesn't give. I can be dead tired and then feel rejeuvenated and refreshed after going to the gym...despite having fueled my body with good food. She asked a question and people are giving various ideas…

Best post ever!

You need to lift heavy...plain and simple. I have a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and I still make it to the gym every other day. Either I put them in the daycare or I leave them home with my husband or my mom...it's only for an hour afterall. You'll love the results!
-
You probably just need to lift heavy then. Losing even more weight still isn't going to give you the body you want...but lifting heavy will. You'd probably really like how you look if you ate at maintenance and lifted 3x a week.

Wow great job!

Wow you look 20 yrs younger! Fantastic job!!

I've lost weight before and definitely found that I lose from my core first and then my arms, hips and thighs catch up later. Seems to be happening again. I'm in smaller shirts but only one size down so far in pants (with a few more sizes to go). I'm hopeful it will happen eventually...I don't have much more I could lose…

Wow you have a gorgeous body!!!

^^^THIS exactly!!! Heel striking is old school info as is wearing heavy shoes with a crapload of support. Research has shown that heel striking is NOT good for your body. You should land midfoot unless sprinting which is when you would land on the ball of your foot while leaning forward. Also, getting a good pair of…

The New Rules of Lifting book (the regular one not the one specifically for women) has three Fat Loss programs in it...yes, lifting weights burns fat...but doing some intervals AFTER lifting helps to blast fat a little more. The NROL has a very specific program for how much, how often and how long you should do the…

I COMPLETELY agree about lifting heavy!!! I've been doing the New Rules of Lifting for Women...the book was very informative about a lot of things...reducing cardio and lifting heavy in particular. There are six stages with two workouts each so it's never boring. The author helps you re: figuring out how much weight is…

I just don't make those kinds of meals anymore. I just don't have the willpower so I make healthy meals that satisfy me with one serving (which is huge) or it's not a crapload of cals and no big deal if I have more. As for nighttime snacking I always save up cals for an evening snack and I just make sure I don't have…

Wow! You look half the age you looked before! Well done!!

Wow what an inspiration!!! You are so beautiful!!! And I love your new style!

Oops I missed #7....I wish I'd taken really really comfy shoes to change into!!! I thought I had comfortable sandals but once my feet started to sweat (it was a really hot day) I got horrible blisters (I had to wear flip flops my ENTIRE honeymoon b/c I couldn't get shoes on my feet the blisters were so bad)...I wish I'd at…

1, How long did you plan? 18 months (but that's only b/c it was the only time around the date we wanted...FYI there's a ****load to do right at the beginning of the planning and then a bunch at the end...not really much to do in the middle.) 2. How much did you spend? (sorry if that's personal) Was this more/less than you…

Way to go!!

Chocolate Covered Katie has great healthy, chocolatey recipes! However, that said, she still can't eat them up to 5x a day. Part of her process is going to be to have to buck up and cut the chocolate.

I do it. Not more than about 200 cals/day though. Just enough to have a splurge meal and a glass or two of wine on the weekend. I also make sure I'm exercising the day of the splurge. I use the weekly calorie counting anyway. I like that on the app when you go to your weekly averages you see just how many cals you've gone…

New Rules of Lifting for Women...for sure! And when you do start lifting I'd just stop using the scale at all...you'll be gaining muscle but losing fat so the scale will likely stay the same but your body will start changing. (ps...only a 7 lb difference in my profile pic...it's pre-NROLFW up to stage 4)

And I know lots of people doing Strong lifts 5x5 and are getting great results.
