You're weight loss is a journey, you have to give your body time. If you continue like this, you're only setting yourself up to fail. With the calorie deficit you're creating, your body will probably go into starvation mode and retain any and all weight it can. Not to mention-what are you planning on doing after the 5…

Carbs are heavenly! I love love love bread! And potatoes, and pasta, and anything that's stuffed with a lovely bunch of carbs :) I don't have a ton of ideas on how to reduce this problem... or habit, but we can figure it out together! I definitley need to kick the habit!

yes, I agree, the backstroke definitely wasn't the best. I swam crooked a lot... I mainly did it when I needed a breather.

I'm working towards a full in may- Ogden marathon. I read a blog today about someone setting a goal to run 12 races this year, one a month. I'm a little intrigued by that, but I haven't planned anything out. My current race goals include two halfs, one in April and Oct, three tri's this summer, and of course the full :)

I really like using TriFind.com. They have listings for every state I believe. I live in Utah, and they never miss posting a race

When I was doing the swim, I switched back and forth between freestyle and backstroke. I competed in an open water tri though, so it may be different in a pool. I'm sure your coach will cover various drills with you that give you a feel for all the types of swimming.

Hey guys! I'm excited that I found this group. I did my first tri last summer (sprint distance) and I am absolutely hooked!! My ultimate goal is to compete in an Ironman... That is a loong way away, but it's definitely on my bucket list! My goal this year is to complete in at least three triathlons. I'm shooting for all…

I think if you're mixing up what muscle groups your working, you should be good. Rest days are important because your body is rebuilding/repairing what you've broken down in your last work out i.e. building muscle. So make sure you're not working the same muscles over and over again. Personally, I think you shouldn't be…

Thanks guys! I've never heard anything negative about Hal Higdon's plans, so maybe I should go with that.

I'm in! I'll post on the doc!

you've got it a little backwards if you ask me. even if you tone up and gain a little bit, you would still probably lose inches. Muscle weighs more than fat, but it takes up less room. A number is just a number, listen to your body. It's okay to lose and feel great about yourself, but make sure you're being smart about it.…

Hey guys, I'm Julia from Utah. I've been running on and off for a little more than a year. I've done 2 half's, 1 full, and am training for another full in May. I really need to get my butt in gear and start training for this next one, hoping to get some running buddies that will spread some motivation!
-
try switching up your routine- different work outs, weight lifting burns a lot of cals cause your building muscle which burns. if you've lost a lot of weight previously you might need to adjust your calorie goals and intake
-
You are amazing! Keep up the good work, fabulous!
-
Thanks Falisha!
