Pork rinds. (No, really. For somebody trying to restrict carbohydrates, there aren't too many "chip-like" options - but pork rinds have zero carbs.) The spicy ones are best. The "regular" ones taste like... well... like what one might expect fried pig skin to taste like. But the spicy ones? Those are tasty!

I would rather have it on as is than off. Having said that, I think if they could consider an option to let us choose how often (perhaps once per day on Xday?), that would be an improvement. Just my $0.02. :o)

It makes excellent wallpaper paste...

Safety note: if the oxygen and hydrogen are not already chemically combined, do not smoke near the mixture. The rapid creation of water may cause injury or death... (See also 'Hindenberg.')

But... isn't that kind of like saying that the only downside to a car without wheels is that it won't go anywhere - but you can still enjoy the great air conditioning. It seems like the zombie chases are what would make it fun/motivating Eight bucks seems kind of expensive for a radio program. *sigh*

I can't run due to a bad ankle (injury years ago). I do, however, like the elliptical - though I'm needing some motivation to get myself consistently on it. Something fun like this might be just the ticket. Has anybody tried it to see if it would be able to register motion on an elliptical? Thanks!

I would recommend the "Fitbit One" rather than either the Zip or the Ultra (which I think is what you referred to as just the FitBit). I have a FitBit Ultra, but the FitBit One is a new product that has some significant upgrades - and costs the same amount as a FitBit Ultra. It does all the stuff the Ultra does (counts…

I don't think there is one built for you. If you have a heart rate monitor, though, I'd recommend just wearing the HRM during your P90X workout, and then record at the end the time and number of calories in a "custom" workout with an appropriate name (i.e. P90X Back and Legs). Then it will be available for you every time…

The graph is from the website http://trendweight.com. I really like the trend that it shows, and that it does a moving average rather than just single daily measurements. This smooths out the graph and probably gives a more realistic trend than simply the individual weights (though you can still see those on the chart).

Interestingly enough... there wasn't any one thing. I've known (obviously) that I should lose some weight, but it's never been a priority. I knew that carrying all that weight around could lead to problems like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, T2 diabetes, etc. - but I chose my parents well, so all my numbers were…

Man, when people say stuff like: "What's your secret to losing so much weight?" "So what diet are you on?" "Why are you trying to lose weight? You look fine." "You've lost that much? I didn't realize you had that much on you!" it really chaps my... oh, wait. No it doesn't. It means that my efforts have not gone unnoticed.…

There are (at least) a couple different - and contradictory - Reader's Digest versions. All of them start the same: There are three different categories of macro-nutrients: carbohydrates, fats, and protein. Carbohydrates can be further subdivided into simple carbohydrates such as sugars, and complex carbohydrates such as…

For me, I've found that if I drastically cut my carbohydrates (I'm aiming for less than 30 grams per day) that the calories take care of themselves. (I also have my fat and protein goal levels set *much* higher than what MFP recommends as a default.) I really don't worry about whether the food I'm eating has "too much"…

I have to agree with Storms here. It is not possible to foul up you "whole" diet in a single day. Good grief - looking at your progress bar, you're doing outstanding. Unless you somehow managed to eat enough food today to somehow gain back every single ounce you've lost (hint - you didn't), then all it was was a bad day.…

The bottom line is... no. I can't run (at least not routinely) because of a bad ankle. Does that mean that I'm doomed to not be a physically fit individual? Of course not. Find what you like to do that will elevate your heart rate and get your muscles working. In terms of whether it has to be a "grown up" exercise, if you…

For an alternative view, read the book, "Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It" by Gary Taubes. He makes a pretty compelling case that just the opposite is true. (He even points to some primitive groups in whose language the word for "hungry" translates to, "when we have to eat plants.") (I am paraphrasing, not…

Bacon. And... uh... more bacon.

When you have a business trip that takes you to a Caribbean island - and you think with all the travel you've done lately, you'd rather just stay home...

What if money is an issue? Can he get an Assistant Coach?

I understand this. I do. Having said that, I got my wife a vacuum cleaner for her birthday one year, and it's still one of her favorite gifts ever. (It's not *just* a vacuum cleaner. It's a built-in all-house vacuum cleaner that I had to install - but it's still a "cleaning appliance.") Having said that, if you're going to…

CSW; 280 LWW; 253.5 CW; 251.5 LO; 2.0 TLO; 28.5 TGLO: 1.5 Sorry for the very late posting. I was traveling on business all week last week. I weighed in when I got home on Friday evening, but neglected to post my numbers. All that to say, I fell *just* shy of my goal of a 30 pound loss - but I'm pretty happy with my loss so…

Nope. Nuts would be too much protein... ;o)

Note to self: Send protein snacks with the kids, and have them pack lunches whenever possible. That's ridiculous.

So... pop tarts are even better than I thought!!! ;o)

Well... the kJ is the energy content, but 111 kJ is equivalent to (roughly) 27 Calories. So, at least according to this label, the 27 Calorie note was correct.

Why is V8 so high in sodium? Because sodium tastes good...?

CSW: 280.0 LWW: 259.4 (Two weeks ago - traveling all last week) CW: 253.7 LO: 5.7 (Two week loss - no weigh-in last week) TLO: 26.3 TGLO: 3.7 Pretty happy with my progress thus far. Need to lose another four pounds (in the next two weeks, or three?) to reach goal!

As somebody who does not have thyroid issues, but has a spouse that does, I'll do my best. Having said that, I think the advice really has very little to do with lack of thyroid. If your synthroid dose is right, your weight loss should be manageable in much the same as somebody without thyroid issues. First, do you have a…

Sorry for the delay. I was at an all-day meeting yesterday at work, and the day got away from me. I weighed in... but never got around to posting. CSW: 280 LWW: 263.6 CW: 259.4 LO: 4.2 TLO: 20.6 Pretty proud of myself for yesterday. They served food at our meeting... lots of food. I chose well, and then sat there for a…

I started just a little late (initial weigh-in June 7th), but I am pretty close to on pace for 30 pounds in 90 days. I've lost 21 pounds so far. With 8 weeks gone and four weeks to go, that puts me right on the right pace. Having said that, I've made some changes to my diet in the last two weeks (while keeping my totally…
