Thanks for the clarification Mike, I was using the term the calculator sites were using. Part of the confusion of BMR is the term is not always used in the same way.

Most of the BMR I have seen (used) inlcude my activity level in its computations. So if it gives me a bmr of 2000, including activity, then how can I lose weight if I consume 2000 and don't change my activity level. If nothing else changes (activity) then you must reduce calories below the BMR to lose weight. I am not…

BMR is confusing, or should I say all the different interpretations and definitions are confusing. BMR is that number of calories that you need to maintain your current weight at your current activity level. You can do two things to reduce your weight. Eating a mango is much more fun. I usually have one a day as a mid-morning snack, or for desert in the evening mixed with a little cottage cheese. High in potassium which helps balance sodium which is a problem with most cottage cheese. Very yummy.

My first three weeks I was eating at a 1,000 cal deficit and did not go down a pound. Then I added about 300 per day, mostly in fruit (love those mangos) and the weight starting to fall off. Soooooooo, I don't know if was adding the calories or adding more fruit, but who cares.......
