You can always add spinach to a smoothie. Just get the frozen (or fresh) spinach, some berries for the antioxidants (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries), some ice, some milk and blend. You won't even notice the spinach. You can always add a scoop of protein powder or blend it with juice too.

Great feeling! Congrats!

Be careful doing those woodchops if you don't have a lot of ab strength. I was doing those when I first started getting fit and threw my back out. They're a GREAT exercise, but if you haven't been coached on how to do them properly and if you let your form go even for a second, you can really hurt yourself. Ok, I'll get…

Hi! I'm a working mom like you with two boys. I usually either exercise while they're at their activities, after I've fed them dinner, or early in the morning. It looks like your options are: Get up early (5:30 or 6) and get a workout in Workout when the kids are at their activities and forgo the cleaning Workout after…

Not usually a fan of protein shakes, but Biometrics Berries and Whey is delicious! It's one of the only ones I can mix with water and drink as-is. It's also super yummy mixed with a banana and a tablespoon of almond butter. :)

Dulpicate. oops!

I still try to stay on track on the weekend, but I don't worry if I go over. This way I'm not getting into bad habits but I still let myself indulge when needed.

My co-worker loves them. I've tried a few and I didn't really like them, but I hadn't been going to Zumba before I tried these, so they may just not be my cup of tea.

Just FYI, a lot of the herbal teas don't have any caffeine in them. I can't have caffeine after 1 pm or I won't sleep, so I've done a lot of research on this. The "Sleepytime" teas are always caffeine-free. :)

You might want to figure out what else is going on. When I sabatoge myself, it's usually because I have an underlying issue I'm not dealing with (usually not related to changing my habits), or something bothering me. When I figure out what it is and do my best to work it out, things change. If that's not it, then change…

My husband works the graveyard shift and takes melatonin religiously to help him sleep. It's natural, safe, and non-habit forming. He loves it.

You probably know this already, but look on tripadvisor.com at the all-inclusives and it'll give you a really good idea of what you're looking for.

We've stayed at the Barcelo both times we've been to Mexico and loved it. I always bring my own snorkel equipment because I don't like putting the snorkel in my mouth when I have no idea who else has been putting their mouth on it. Just my personal preference. Plus I have nice fins and booties so I can wade out into the…

We're getting one too, so thanks for starting this thread! :)

Bring a side dish or two...that's what I do. :)

We stayed at a resort about 10 minutes north of Akumal (just a bit south of Playa del Carmen and Cozumel). They have lots of turtles there you can see in the bay while snorkeling, and the food at the bar on the beach is excellent (and you CAN drink the water there!). It's a very busy diving spot, though, so there are a lot…

I build in some comfort foods on the days I need them. If chocolate is your thing, have a small piece or two and walk away (go do something else). Or I'll make hot chocolate and savor it. If I just absolutely HAVE to have pizza, then I eat it, but I make sure I get to the gym so I can at least work off some of the…

Welcome! :)

Oh so very jealous!! Fun! :)

I would LOVE to join a crossfit gym, but I can't afford it right now, and I probably need to get in a little better shape before I do. I've done bootcamps that made me want to puke every time I did them, and I kept going back. I LOVE challenging my body! For me it's all about pushing limits and taking fitness to another…

I decided to go swim laps at the gym after a few years (and a few extra pounds) of not swimming, so when I went to put on my one-piece, it wasn't flattering and I didn't want to wear it. I put on my new tankini and bikini bottoms and hit the pool. I was just finishing my first lap and decided to do a flip turn into my…

Maybe they meant cardio on top of the Insanity workouts as being overkill?
-
I think it depends on your goals. If you're a body builder, then that much cardio may be ineffective to reach your goals. If you're just trying to stay in shape, then exercise no matter what form it's in is good for you. I lift 2-3 times per week and generally get in cardio 5 times a week (swimming, running, cycling,…

For me it is. It balances my moods out so I'm not crabby and short-tempered. That's the main reason my husband supports my workout habits!

auticus I stand corrected. My apologies. I should not have lumped you into that group.
-
I think it's funny that several of the guys on here (ahem Scott613, msf74 and others) are complaining about men being lumped into the "creeper" category (because according to some of you, EVERYONE is a creeper in our eyes), but they have basically lumped all women into the b*tch category based on a few catty people. You…

TJ- Maybe we could alternate nutrition goals and fitness goals? Maybe something like.... Do 100 push-ups (or planks, for Becca) for the week Eat 10 more grams of protein each day than you usually do Walk/Jog/Run an extra 3 miles over what you normally would do per week Try an new healthy recipe and share it with the group…

I work a desk job and am usually sedentary during the days. When I spend 4-5, sometimes 8-9 hours on my feet cooking or cleaning and can't get a workout in because I'm doing these things, then yes, I'll log part of my cooking/cleaning. I usually only log 1/3 of what I've actually done, though. One night I came home from…

I purchased Insanity and was planning on starting about that time, so it's perfect! I'm in. :)
