I've just started trying to Eat Clean and would be happy to have some clean eating friends.
-
I'm also looking for Clean Eating friends for support and encouragement. I'm just starting out... again!

Your body needs sleep to rest and recover from your exercise efforts. Get some sleep, and get back to your regular 2 hour routine tomorrow. Just my 2 cents.

Consider that it's not your body that craves sweets and fast foods. It is your mind. Taste, smell, feeling, all those are sensory experiences lived through the mind. To change our behaviors, we must change our minds. To change our minds we first need to learn to sit with those uncomfortable feelings of craving and desire…

I'd also be interested in learning any tips to quit caffeine. I have a caffeine pill habit. I'm thinking that maybe switching to B vitamins or some more benign pill will help curb the pill-popping habit I've developed.

Let's give it a try!

Thanks for the heads up about the book. I'll definitely look into it and the blog post you referenced. I did a cleanse earlier this year but it wasn't particularly Ayurveda-focused. I have been thinking about doing another one, maybe a mono-fast to super-simplify my diet and try to remediate my cravings and using food as a…

I think you should count it as a good thing. Um, congratulations?

I have a similar amount to lose. I'm not new here but I am "starting anew" this week. I'm over in Southern California. Feel free to send a FR. : )

Looks delicious! I might try it with chickpeas and vegetable bouillon for a veg version.

I totally agree with Jen. I haven't noticed that eating Ayurvedically has impacted my stress levels, although having a daily routine has brought me some comfort. Having compassion for yourself is so, so important as well.

Do you think they'd work as small patties? I don't have a muffin tin.
-
Me too. But tomorrow's a new day and we'll make better choices.
-
What a steal! And you look beautiful. I look forward to wearing dresses after I've lost weight, too.

I started growing mine out from a pixie cut with blonde highlights (stupid idea!) and have pledged not to cut it while I'm on this healthy journey. It's just past my ears now and is the perfect length to show off my natural curls. The curls straighten out as my hair gets longer. My goal is waist-length natural hair which…

I'm not new but my efforts have been inconsistent at best. I have 100+ to lose. I'm rededicating myself to the cause -- my health! Feel free to add me.

Just try to remember that a journey is a series of decisions. Take each decision (to eat, to exercise, to track your food) one at a time. No matter how much or how little you do, if you stay on-program, you're making progress!

Hello. : )

I use it to bookmark recipes I'd like to try.

bump. and YUM!

I was eating in the 2000s but wasn't losing. My doctor suggested between 1200 and 1400. Perhaps your doctor could give you a better idea of what's optimal for you based on your current health.

I take a little time in the evenings and try to pre-load the following day based on what's in the fridge and pantry. It helps keep me on track and gives me something to look forward to.

How wonderful that you're now cancer-free! I once had a cancer scare and I can't imagine how I would've coped if it'd come out positive. I'm glad you're here and ready to get back your health! Feel free to add me as a friend.

I used to be a binge eater. I found that as my depression was treated, and I started eating healthier foods in moderation, my desire to binge lessened. The possibility and the opportunities still lurk, though. I try hard to stay in control. If I binge, it's most often in my car, on the way home from work. Never admitted…

I had my gallbladder out several years ago. The only dietary restriction I remember is to avoid fatty foods. I still adhere to this advice because as several others have indicated, they can "go right through you."

kale! Specifically kale chips with a little sprinkle of garlic. YUM!

Thank you all so much for posting your experiences. I have no official diagnosis but through a process of elimination have reason to believe that gluten and I don't get along. I was concerned about a detox period but now that I know what to (perhaps) expect, I feel like I can handle it better. Thank you!

Looks delightful!

Feel free to read over my profile and send a friend request if you'd like. : )

You could try grains and beans. They are affordable and healthy and with vegetables added make easy meals. Buy in bulk and buy a variety. Don't forget herbs and seasonings are available in bulk as well. That's a good way to add a lot of flavour without adding calories. I am also on a tight budget and find that weighing and…
