I prefer Sunwarrior Warrior Blend vegan protein powder. I used it even when I wasn't vegan because I cannot tolerate whey protein powder at all. I also don't do well with straight soy protein powder.

I totally know how you feel. I have social anxiety - do you? I mean this in the nicest way - just get over it! There is nothing embarrassing about exercising and being sweaty. Nothing at all. Most people aren't even going to notice you, and I would bet everyone who does is going to have a positive reaction. What does it…

If your alternative to coffee is sugar free energy drinks, I assume you aren't scared of artificial sweeteners. So you could use the artificial sweetener of your choice, a sugar free flavored syrup (these are in most grocery stores, usually in the coffee aisle), or an artificially sweetened creamer type product.

You absolutely can do it!! You just have to really want it, and believe that you can do it. After you do those two things for real, everything else gets easier.

to fix your first post just put img in brackets before the link, and \img in brackets after the link

Let's see if I can make it work: And YES, you are most definitely a success!! Congratulations on what you have achieved. You look awesome!

Positive and healthy in my case, definitely! But then again my son drinks soda in moderation and eats junk food sometimes. Actually I pretty much let him eat what he wants, within reason, but it is extremely rewarding when he asks for extra vegetables and prefers my vegan food to whatever else is available. He also likes…

Me too! And I lived in Frederick a while. I'm in VA now, in the part that in no way can be counted as MD.

Yummmmm, avocados!! You really should weigh them. I've seen a medium avocado vary in calories by 30% or more. Edited to add: Can you take your food scale to work?

So, they're saying that instead of having a 12" veggie sub for 1180 cals, 59g fat, and 131g carbs, you should get the 6" of a different veggie sub for 530 cals, 22g fat, and 52g carbs. If you really wanted the first one and would be happy with a 6", why not just get the 6" version of it for 590 cals, 29.5g fat, and 65.5…

I'm not saying they're equivalent, but in terms of strictly sugar they can be sorta similar. A large apple has 20ish grams of sugar. A full size Snickers has 27 grams of sugar. I've learned that my body doesn't really notice much of a difference between the sugar in an apple and an equivalent amount of sugar in a Snickers…

Diet soda doesn't make me crave sweets at all. In fact, a diet A&W or diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper will take care of my worst sweet cravings. I'm diabetic, so avoiding sugar is a necessity for me. I drink mainly water, but I would never give up the occasional diet soda because I don't see a reason to give it up.

For all of the negative info on soy out there, there is also positive. If you're concerned, do some research and decide for yourself. The American Cancer Society seems to think soy is a pretty good thing. http://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatmentsandsideeffects/complementaryandalternativemedicine/dietandnutrition/soybean…

My question would be what's happening on the days you aren't logging. No criticism here at all - I skip days too, but I've found that when I do it's a sign that it was a disordered day for me, meaning that my eating was probably disordered too and I ate way more or way less than I had intended. I did some quick and dirty…

1200 calories a day for a person who does no exercise does not cause starvation mode. Whether or not it is a good idea for a particular person is debatable. MFP is set up to encourage people to eat back all of their exercise calories, and no one who follows the guidelines will end up with a net of less than 1200. I'm…

I am trying to decide which one of those I would choose for the ultimate dream date. I can't figure it out. I do know that I am going to refer to myself as Sven as much as possible from now on.

I hope you are under a doctor's care.

I am of the belief that 1200 net calories is not going to put you into starvation mode unless you have a metabolic problem or you are working out on top of that. Are you sure you are accurately logging every single thing you eat? If you're working out, are you eating any of your exercise calories back? How much are you…

What's your allowance? How many calories are you eating? Don't stress, you can figure this out. :flowerforyou:

Nooo, you aren't ready to give up, don't be silly. I feel that way sometimes, but after so long of listening to my inner self whine and complain about what I can't do, I kick my own butt and come back even stronger. I'm not saying your inner self whines or complains, just that mine does. Add me as a friend if you…

Maybe that wasn't really a woman . . .

It was my first date with an older guy I worked with. Shortly after he picked me up, he announced that he was "backed up" (his words) and needed to stop by the store for some Ex-Lax. Worst date ever, but I was thankful that he didn't poop himself before I could make a semi-graceful escape.

It's only been a week, so it's too soon to judge. I would guess you'll see some of that weight back, then you'll lose more, then maybe gain, etc. Weight loss never goes in a straight downward line, for me anyway. Just cutting snacks could put you at a deficit depending on what snacks you were having. Another thought - is…

This thread makes me wonder why there is a need for photography of actual human beings. Why not just switch to completely computer generated "people?"

I do 18/6. It's going really well for me. It's really helped lower my blood sugar without medication (I'm diabetic) and I actually have more energy doing IF than I do eating small meals around the clock.

:( Maybe he just has a bad attitude then. But like others have said, don't make it about you, and don't let it make you feel bad about yourself. Keep doing your thing for you, and keep smiling, even to those who don't "deserve" a smile. Think of how miserable it must be to be stuck inside a snarly head with a grumpy snarly…

I'm curious - did you try smiling at him?

That's what porn is for.

Maybe he was checking you out and trying to look fierce.

I'm in!
