  • 1. Water should be the first thing you increase. Half your body weight. 2. If you haven't talked to a doctor, you should. They would give the best advice & supervision while taking supplements to help "get you going". 3. Take time every day to sit on the toilet at roughly the same time. Give yourself enough time to relax.…
  • What is your calorie limit? Will these ideas work? I get bored with salads pretty quick. How about a "Salad Wrap" instead. Put all your salad fixings in lettuce or spinach leaves or even a low carb tortilla. I use a whole grain tortilla that is only 81 calories. Other Ideas: Stuffed Peppers Stuffed Mushrooms Veggies &…
  • Oops! I should have said 1/2 cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. Haven't tried just 1/4 cup yet.
  • Look into Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live diet. The base of his meal plan is to eat 1 pound raw veggies, 1 pound cooked veggies, 4 fruits & 1 cup of beans daily. Later you add in 1 oz nuts / seeds, 2 oz avocado, 1 cup starchy veggies / whole grains, 1 TBSP flaxseed & 2 TBSP dried fruit. Check it out.
  • Personally I eat dessert every night now. Previously "diets" always failed because I would eat something "off limits" & then give up. I know that for me, no matter what I eat during the day, I always want something before bed. So now I make sure to plan for it. I alternate flavors of sugar free / fat free pudding. Jello…
  • When you cut back on your portions of higher calories foods - always start your meals with a large salad / veggie dish. Make it low cal - don't add a lot of dressings / meat / cheese / croutons, etc. This way you will be full from the veggies but can still enjoy a small taste of whatever it is that you don't want to give…
  • I don't know how many calories or what flavor you are looking for but here are a few ideas for snacks: Fresh Veggies w/ Hummus, Salsa, Guacamole or Bean Dip (preferably homemade so you can control the ingredients) Sugar Free Jello or Pudding Raw Nuts / Seeds - can be sprayed w/ cooking spray, toasted & flavored to fit…
  • There are gluten free / wheat free english muffins. Also, here is a link with a recipe to make your own. They sound really good although I haven't tried them. If this recipe doesn't work for you, there were numerous others. http://glutenfreesoxfan.wordpress.com/2007/09/15/homemade-english-muffins/
  • Hi, I just joined this group. Is anyone else on the Eat to Live 6 week plan? I am 5 ft tall & am a paraplegic so my calorie goal is quite low. MFP set me at 1200 but I strive for around 1000 sometimes a little less due to not being able to be as active on those days. I have about 100 lbs to lose. I just read the book Eat…

  • I am an extremely picky eater too. But I recently discovered I LOVE grilled & roasted veggies. Grilled bell & jalapeno peppers, onions, portabella mushrooms & tomatoes topped with hummus.
  • I don't know if this counts but it is my favorite meal. I am on a gluten free, mostly meat free diet. Grilled Veggies 1 Portabella Mushroom, whole 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced in rings 1 Vidalia Onion, sliced in rings 1 Habanero or Jalapeno, sliced in half 1 medium Tomato, sliced in half 1 slice Pepperjack Cheese 2 TBSP…
  • For the banana "soft serve" - you could add a bit of honey, cinnamon, nutmeg or cocoa powder for a more decadent treat. Puree some nuts or nut butter with it too if you like.
  • I have also gone grain free as well as mostly meat free (except eggs). This is my absolute favorite meal in the world. Grilled Veggies (grilled outside or the George Foreman grill works awesome too) 1 Portabello Mushroom, whole 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced in rings 1 Vidalia Onion, sliced in rings 1 Jalapeno or Habanero…
