Trust me, I understand this frustration. I get that if I weigh myself at different times, I'll get different numbers. However, if I step on the scale, get a reading, step off, and then immediately repeat, this number in my opinion should be the same. Instead, I see variations of 2-3 lbs....

I've been told there's cake over in the break room. So far I've been avoiding it. :(

In my case, it was more of an average. Any given week can fluctuate.

The machines at my gym seem to be fairly on. The one thing to remember is your intensity could also affect any differences.

I have the same problem with church potlucks and summer cookouts. :(

My goal is to just try to beat the calories that the MFP app says I should have for the cardio exercises I'm doing.

This! I also find that I'll stay longer if I'm at the gym with somebody.

Love these....

I think this is the real issue. From what the original poster wrote, it doesn't look like he has a problem with her going out in general, it's that he has an issue with her going out, drinking (ie. getting drunk), and getting huggy/touchy feely with everyone there. If her husband were the one doing that, everyone would be…

I agree that it most likely won't happen. However, it's not too much different than shipping a package. The more the package weighs, the more it costs to ship.

My biggest issue is I want one that is accurate. The one I have now, I can step on and off and get a different measurement each time. I understand ones weight fluctuates through the day, but if I step on, weigh myself, step off, step back on, and weigh myself again, I shouldn't get a variation.

I'm not sure what your specific calorie goals are, but they do have an under 500 calorie menu with a few items on it.

I love those! :)

I do this. It annoys quite a few people when they go through looking for a soda, chips, or something....

I'm a boredom eater. If I'm bored and near food, I eat it.....:(

I think I need a new one too. Can't wait to see all the suggestions. :)

Mine does the same thing. It's a Health-o-Meter HDM585KD-02. I tap it to calibrate it and then step on and I'm 232. Step off, tap, step back on....233. If I step on again it'll bounce just like yours is. :(

I think I'd just start entering in the new weights. You could even go back and delete the old ones if you wanted.

Technically, he's right. In order to lose weight, all you need to do is exercise and eat properly for your body. You don't need a website, Weight Watchers, the latest fad diet, or any of that in order to do that. However, weight loss is HARD! We all know that. In my case, I have willpower issues (avoiding the gym, eating…

I don't have a solution, but I'm self conscious exercising around people as well. Even at the gym sometimes.
-
I'm not logging, but I'm trying to be reasonable about what I eat. :)

After watching people use equipment without cleaning it, I wouldn't call you a germaphobe....

Thank you!

Been there, done that many many many times over. Last Saturday I was 233.2 lbs. I'm hovering around 240 again. The church had a going away lunch, then a coworker left so another going away lunch, plus it was anniversary week for the fiancée and I so another dinner out. On top of that, I made two cookie sundaes this week.…

Amazing! I hit 328.8 two years ago. I'm now down to about 230-240. So I'm about 20 lbs behind ya. Thanks for the inspiration!
