Some people can weigh themselves everyday without driving themselves bonkers. I'm not one of those people. I weigh myself once a week for the sake of my sanity.

Update: I am back to logging and have lost 7 lbs already. Yeah I was eating some bad stuff after I lost all the weight, but I think the real killer was drinking. My mom had passed away and I went through two months where I was drinking every day. For whatever reason booze make me pack on the pounds fast. Not sure if it's…

You did that in only 4 weeks? Very impressive,

I think that maintenance is easier for some people than for others. For me it is a lot tougher than losing weight. I was very strict with my calorie count over the last year which resulted in a 153 lb weight loss. During that time I never went over my calorie count even once. The structure of the strict diet was easier for…

I hit my goal weight last month and I am going to try listening to my body and putting away the scale and calorie counting for the next six weeks. It will be interesting to see if I gain, lose or maintain.

Any time I have upped my calories my body has kind of freaked out a little and held on to water weight. This comes right back off once my body realizes that a few extra calories is not the end of the world. For the sake of my own sanity I try to stay off the scale for at least a week or more if I do any calorie increasing…

I never gave up Chik Fil A during my weight loss. My favorite is the chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich. Oh man my tummy is growling just thinking about it.

I am an engineer at a recording studio and a crazy sleep schedule kind of comes with the gig. I do kind of the same thing as you do but I only eat 2 meals a day. I eat a meal around 3-4 hours after I wake up and then I eat a smaller meal around 4 hours later and that's about it for me. I have lost over 145 lbs over the…

This is my perspective and hey it's just an opinion right? So take it for what it's worth. It seems to me that if you are a person that is doing all these cleanses, pseudo fad diets, pills etc etc, if doing those things makes you happy then more power to you. If you were to ask my opinion about them what I would tell you…

Thanks for the great replies guys! Knowledge is power. I wish I would have started exercise a long time ago but there is no sense in beating myself up over something I can't do anything about. So will a good exercise program help me avoid regaining fat?
-
Thanks for the good advice! Do you guys find that it is harder to maintain than it is to lose weight?

Better than regular yogurt in my opinion. Not as liquidy or soupy.

I am a total creature of habit (something I would like to change). It sounds weird but I eat the same thing at least 4 to 5 times a week and sometimes more. I have lost over 140 lbs over the last 11 months doing this so I guess something is working.

Good job! Keep up the great work

I've lost 140 lbs in the last 11 months by counting calories with MFP phone app. I did this without exercise.

Thanks so much guys

I am a total sucker for the day after Thanksgiving turkey sandwich

It helped me to understand that health and fitness are not the same thing

I don't know much about dieting and/or nutrition so take this for what it's worth, but to me this diet doesn't sound like a good one because it doesn't do the one single most important thing that helps people keep the weight off rather than gain it all back. It doesn't teach consistent daily portion control. If you gave a…

I am completely addicted to Diet Pepsi. Thinking about giving it up in the New Year. Oh man....I soooo don't want to.

You're doing so great

If I were you I would get back in the habit of logging every day. I have never lost weight before so I don't know what it is like to maintain, but I am guessing that it must have it's unique set of challenges. Perhaps a little more structure would help.

I feel for you. I have heard that going on medication has caused a lot of people to gain weight. I hope that it is just temporary and that your body will adjust. Hang in there. Do NOT give up! You have come too far and done too much to quit now.

Wow you were the same exact weight that I was when I started! I was 320 in December and yeah getting out of the 300's was HUGE! I broke it up into 10 pound mini goals and before I knew it I was under 200 lbs! My original goal weight was 220 lbs but once I got there I decided that since I came this far I might as well go…
