Hi all. Marie here. I'm retired, 63, and have only been running for a year. I have a 3d metatarsal fracture that is still healing after 4 months, probably because I don't have the sense to keep off it. I go up and down the scales more than Liberace. I'm talking 50 lb. swings. Right now I'm down, and I'm trying to keep it…

Hi, I'm from South Jersey.

I am hoping you do this again in September! I'm 63 and took up running about 6 months ago. I am trying to keep a recent 55 lb. weight loss alive. Like many late in life runners, I got a 3rd metatarsal stress fracture about 8 weeks ago. I'm hoping I'll be back to running in September. I did go out today, only did 3 miles,…

I understand the concern about a 4 lb. gain. However, from what I've read, weight training results in more muscle mass, which is wonderful. Muscle weighs more then flab, so it's probably a good thing.

Thanks guys, especially you golden girls. You are great inspirations. I failed to mention that I am short. 5'2" on a really good day. Osteoporosis has stolen a little off that. My biking and walking are nearly always outdoors, on back roads. I am still trying to find a calorie number that works as far as maintenance goes.…

Thanks. When I say blow out days, I mean I might have an extra 200 calories, not really a blow out. And no, I never stretch before or after. Guess I should start!

Yes I've felt like that many times. I'm almost 60 years old, so I've been to this rodeo many times. I've probable lost and gained 5 people. Is it emotional eating? Probably sometimes. I see it more as an addiction, like heroin. Food makes me feel good, at least while I'm eating. But why keep trying? Because you're so worth…

Happy Sunday  The weather here has finally cooled a bit. Hurrah! Anyway....yesterday ended up being a total crash and burn for me. I snacked all day. :grumble: BAD habit. I seem to do this on day 4 all the time. I am too scared to get on the scale this morning. I am going to stick with the plan and weigh myself…

Good morning! Feeling good today. I actually dropped a few ounces from yesterday. Admittedly, I'd do well to cut out the evening mini binges like pretzels and dry cereal, I seem to crave carbs at night. Yay. I'm about to head out for my walk, usually about 2 miles. Here's todays stats Starting wt: 172.2 Today wt: 171.5
