further, certified organic can sometimes be a sham, so if you have opportunity please support a local farmer with a CSA subscription. it's well worth the money and i don't think i've ever run across a bug in my pick up because our farmer washes everything pretty well. he's not certified organic, but he concentrates on the…

you can stop buying organic... just one less person to feed in the end... i'll take a bug in my salad any day over the caustic effects of chemical runoff into our aquifers.
-
i want to eat what bugs eat. that means that they haven't been sprayed with some kind of toxic chemical, so i'm happy to see the bugs. i just wash them off, or flick them into the yard.

there is seriously nothing better than getting on a bike and going. i got rid of my car 4 years ago, but this year is the first that i've ridden my bike absolutely every day for at least 10, but usually closer to 20, miles. i have never felt more liberated and independent in my entire life.

my diary is open, too.

i pretty much have to control the food portion of our relationship. i cave occasionally, but mostly i won't allow certain items in the house. if he wants something, he can have it, just not at home. mostly he's pretty good about it, though.

I'm actually sorry that you feel "beaten down" as that was never my intention. It's just that when you eat out, you should just eat out and you should be able to tell by experience what a cup of something looks like after a while. An app may occasionally be helpful, but it's no comparison to actually being in touch with…

by the spoonful! haha.... i like ricotta on eggs with spinach. or a ricotta pie. or dolloped on an an onion fritatta.

i'm not a hater, but when did cavemen eat cream cheese? m :)

You're beautiful. Don't worry what other people think. Haters gonna hate.

By American standards, it is "health food"... which doesn't say much for American standards. Comparatively, as fast food goes, Subway is the better option, but I would steer clear of their meats which are literally packed with salt. One can easily consume over 1000 calories in one sitting at Subway, so don't be fooled.

well, you DID go through the drive thru... you probably could've burned off that bit just by walking in.

i never focus on the end goal. i just take it 10lbs at a time. also, i just try to move my body as much as possible so i don't have to worry about what i eat so much and with all that moving around, i'm not sitting and eating, i'm burning. so just take it one step at a time, drink a lot of water and move your body more…

but if you eat at home most of the time (and even better if you prepare your own food) you should be able to tell, "hey, this is about a cup". it's really not that hard, and i don't mean to sound inflammatory, it's just that apps are not the answer for this kind of thing because it's more than just visual. some things…

the best app is simply a measuring cup.
-
it's really weird, but cups are usually much smaller than i think. and a tablespoon is always more than i think. do you have a measuring cup? what you could do is just measure a few things until you get the hang of what it looks like on the plate. a cup of mashed potatoes is actually quite a bit.. maybe the size of my…

we make a tincture out of garlic stems and hot peppers, then spray that. it washes off easy, though,so you have to do it after you water. and maybe add a drop of soap. also i heard fish emulsion works as both a fertilizer and a bug repellent.
-
it really depends on how they make it. when we make it, it is considerably less than store-bought because i like to use a lot less sugar. but some people go all out and make a custard base, which will increase the numbers, so best thing to do is just enjoy it and stick to less than a half cup. :)

i used to drink it this way in my 20s... thanks for reminding me about it!
-
why not make the goal to not need a tummy tuck? :)
-
i'm looking forward to having the best, most fit body possible. that alone is the gift.

you had a space in a filename which in internet world translates to %20, so i removed those and changed the IMG to img and everything is working.

ah, never mind.

if you're riding streets (not dedicated bike path) i would suggest wearing a whistle. it helps alert cars to your presence. also wear bright clothing. the best thing you can do is keep yourself visible at all times :) keep it fun! 14 miles is a good, fun ride!

do you mean green salads? i use the term "salad" as anything that is a mixture of a number of ingredients... tomato salad, for example, doesn't have any greens in it at all; in fact, it's much like salsa. or cucumber salad is tomato salad with cucumbers... i don't know which are high in vit k, but i'm guessing green…

hard boiled eggs! home made trail mix clif bars (if you can) lots of dried fruit, nuts & seeds. if you have a camping stove, oatmeal

pumpkin seeds are enormously high in protein. way more than a steak, even!
