Just started having a banana and protein shake (separately) before my workout and it's made a huuuge difference for me.

I'm in the "I didn't give up anything" camp. I just planned for it and if it was spontaneous, I made room for it over the next few days. In my past weight loss attempts, I gave things up and I was miserable so always ended up gaining the weight back. This past year, I didn't give anything up and the weight loss seemed to…

Being more hungry when you're lifting heavy really messes with your head, especially when you've been eating on a caloric deficit for a long time. For the past year, I've done a mix of cardio and strength training but just started to really lift heavy a month ago. Because of the extra energy my body now needs to repair and…

Are you me?? Since I started lifting heavy about a month ago I've been a bottomless pit of eating so I've had to up my calories - just went to 2000 cal/day this week. Like sarahkw04 said, it screws with your head, especially when I've been in a caloric deficit for a year. I'm still trying to get over the fact that…

Do you have the option of purchasing a few personal training sessions so they can show you proper form? Or, binge watch youtube videos. For technique tips, I like Omar Isuf and Alan Thrall.

I'm 5'8" 133 lbs. For the past year, while I was losing, I did 60 mins cardio session 2x/wk and 2 strength training sessions per week. I've been maintaining for a month now and I've completely cut out cardio, other than 5-10 mins on the treadmill for a warm-up during leg days. I don't bother with a cardio warm-up on upper…

I catch myself doing this too once in a while! It feels great! Been on maintenance for a month and have started lifting heavier and I've lost 1" around my chest, which means I've lost some back fat!
-
This is me exactly! I'm 5'8, currently 132, aiming for 127/128 before starting maintenance. I, too, am small framed so even at my current weight, I still look healthy slim and not skin and bones. Actually, I still have quite a bit of belly fat to lose but I don't want to go below the upper 120s and be underweight. Once I…

Every 10-15 lbs, I'd go down a size so I'll buy the necessities to get me through the next 10-15 lb. Sometimes I'd stretch it out to 20 lbs. I have 5 lbs more to go until I get to maintenance and then I'll be splurging on a shopping spree to restock my closet with my permanent size. Can't wait!

I'm 41, 5'8" currently 132 lbs and a size small, occasionally an XS depending on the fit. At my heaviest at 212 lbs, I was an XL.

Add me to the belly frustration group! After 63 lbs lost, my belly fat is still hanging on! I'm down to my last 5 lbs and should get to my maintenance weight range by mid August. I'll be starting recomp at that point and I'm really really hoping that as I build muscle, it will burn off the excess belly fat. If not, there's…

This is a great list! Just wondering, though, is there a general consensus of when someone is a beginner vs. intermediate? Myself, I've been working with a trainer for a year doing full body strength training using compound movements/lifts. Because of this, I feel I have a good understanding of proper form and…

Shopping spree for a new 'permanent' wardrobe. Everything I've bought during my journey has been 'temporary' clothes since I can only wear them for 1-2 months until I need to buy a size down.

I'm 5'8" , no kids and started at 195 lbs so about where you are. A year later, I'm down to 136 lbs with 5-10 lbs before I start maintaining. Frustratingly, it's just now that the fat is coming off the belly and I can visibly tell that it's getting flatter. Of course, it's been shrinking since the start as I went from a…

Thanks for the encouragement! I've been more strict with weighing and logging my food these past few months. After nearly a year of steady weight loss each week, the whooshes are messing with my head a bit. For weeks, until I whoosh, I keep thinking that I'm doing something wrong or I'm missing something with my eating…

That's me...I'm on round 3 of "those last 10 lb" because my goal keeps moving. I started at 195 with a goal of 150. When I got to 150, my belly was still there so I thought, let's try 140. At 140 now and my new goal is 130 to get rid of the belly fat. If needed, I'll go to 125 but that'll be it since I'll be at the bottom…

I can't really pinpoint my motivation, other than to say that for some reason, I decided it was just time to live a healthier life. This time, I wasn't "dieting," I was changing the way I was living by eating healthier and getting active. This was 8 months ago and I think because of the changing my life mindset (vs.…

I know what you mean! I passed my original goal weight already and I'm ecstatic with the progress, but I can't believe that I'm not satisfied with my body yet. I haven't been this light in over 25 years, but I find that now I'm greedy...I don't just want to be thinner, I want my ideal body which mean looking strong and fit

I'm 5'8" , at my heaviest 2 years ago at 211 lbs, size 16 SW: 195 lbs, size 14 CW: 143 lbs, size 8 but are baggy so will probably need a size 6 soon Already passed my original goal weight of 150 lbs and am continuing until I'm rid of the dreaded belly fat so I may get down to a size 4, or maybe even a 2.
-
I didn't mean to give the impression that I'm not satisfied with the results - sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify: I'm very happy with my progress and results and am ecstatic that I've met and passed my goal weight. When I set my goal weight 8 months ago, I had no idea what my body would look like when I got there as…

Hubby and I got back from a cruise about a week ago and like you, we completely let go and indulged. We planned to do this and were highly successful at it. :) We've been on this journey for 9 months but have taken the time to enjoy the indulgences of birthdays, anniversaries, vacations, and also giving into the occasional…

I've already hit my original goal weight but I'm going to keep going until I'm happy with how my belly looks. When I get there, I'm going on a shopping spree for a brand new (permanent) wardrobe! I've moved from a size 14 to an 8 so I've had to buy new clothes already, but I've been holding back and just buying what I need…

Started at 195 lbs and got together with former work colleagues when I hit the 20 lb mark and they noticed. At my current work, people are just starting to comment and I'm down 47 lbs. I started to notice at about the 20 lb mark myself - that's when clothes started to fit a little better on me.
-
I felt exactly the same way. I started at a size 14 (but highest was 16) and now I'm an 8, almost a 6. The excitement and confidence level was through the roof when I discovered I got down to a single digit dress size! I haven't been this small since I was a teenager.
-
I'm 5'8", started 8 months ago at 195 and now at 151. My original goal weight was 150 and now that I'm essentially there, it's not enough because I still have belly fat I want to get rid of. I'm thinking it'll be at least 140, maybe 135 before I get rid of my spare tire but we'll see. If anyone told me at the beginning…

Thanks jemhh and middlehaitch! I don't mind the cellulite-ish look for now if it means I'm finally losing belly fat! Woohoo! Middlehaitch - you look fantastic! I would be ecstatic if I can get my body anywhere close to what you look like

My weight goes up 3-5 lbs the week I'm expecting my period and then goes back down a day or two after it starts. I attribute it to water retention because I don't change my diet or exercise routine.

How hot hubby thinks I am now and that look in his eyes....ok TMI :)
