I would trust the Garmin more since it knows your body and heart rate. I always log exercise based on what my device says. Good luck!

Congrats!!! I am doing my first half marathon in one month. I'm definitely NOT a runner and it's been amazing to see my progress...9 miles today!!! Best of luck to you.

Foam roller or "the stick" on calves, quads and hammys!!

I have terrible reactions to fiber bars in general. I am on the verge of becoming gf so I can't speak to that, but fiber bars will lay me out quick.

Try this: Boil water in a large pot or pour it in from a kettle to a large bowl Add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil (you can buy at natural food stores; ok for pregnancy http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/700.html) Throw a towel over your head and steam your face for 5-10 minutes Good luck and I hope it…

It happens to me if I eat too close to exercising...or eat the wrong foods before exercising. I agree with britt - focus on breathing and arm(s) above head.

Solid training advice- thanks!

I started c25k and c210k both on the treadmill for various reasons.. It worked just fine but be prepared for a transition when you do hit the pavement. Running outside is the best!!

5'4 1/2 is just on the cusp of petite. I usually have to go up a size so I rarely buy petite. Who needs that? Anyway, you look fun. I'm not so short but we can still be girls!

If I don't need to carry water, I wear this one.. best belt ever, especially for us ladies who have hips. This one does not move around at all. I have always hated those that tend to flop around my small waist but will not stay put on my big hips. This is a dream: http://www.ifitnessinc.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=8…

Are you on the pill? If so, I recommend starting the new pack instead of last week of current pack. That will prevent you from having a period, but it's not without the normal pms symptoms for me. I only do it if I really need to, but it works! Good luck in the marathon!!

I set mine at 40-30-30 based on being a balanced oxidizer. I struggle to eat enough protein each day, but when hit these targets I feel great. Here is some info and a quiz you can take to determine your type and recommendations. You can go into your diary and change your percentages if you decide to make any changes.…

Grilled cheese, mac n cheese, cheddar cheese, anything with cheese, bologna, biscuits & gravy, Ramen noodles, wheat bread (thanks for that Mom!. She also put wheat germ into our cereal or yogurt), Little Debbie snacks, Taco Salad, Diet Coke, not a lot of fresh fruits, veggies or fish, which were hard to come by where I…

Invest in a foam roller and roll your calf muscles out (and IT bands and hamstrings). Do it every day if you can. You can find you tube videos for tutorials if you need help. Good luck with the half!!!

What do you men you felt a little weird at the end? I noticed that as the weeks progressed and the run segments got longer I had to slow down in order to sustain it. I also heard the same from a friend who started out going fairly fast speed too. Don't be afraid to slow it down to a comfortable speed. You will get faster,…

Bump! My trainer suggested this too but I have yet to try it. Thanks!

Try the Couch to 5K program or if you are an experienced runner but haven't regularly trained in a while you could probably jump straight to the Couch to 10K program. There are apps for the ipod, podcasts, and training programs available online. I did the C25K and upon completion started the C210K. After I finished that I…

Check out this link: http://www.livestrong.com/article/309695-the-brat-diet-for-ibs/ I have to help my dad implement the same diet this week. I would also add saltines and ginger ale if you feel up to it and can handle the carbonation and sugar. Good luck!
