I am 43, I lost about 60lbs last year through diet and exercise. It does get harder when you get older but it can be done. As my weight loss increases I seem to do ok on lower calories, these days I find 1450-1500 is as low as I can got without getting cravings and still maintain my engery levels. I think its wrong to think of it as a static figure, your body is changing so it makes sense your requirments will too. I'd recommend you review it…

I workout every second day, for about an hours, 1/3 Cardio 2/3's Weights, being 40+ my recovery isnt what it used to be.
