I use raw baby spinach instead of lettuce, and add feta cheese and a little tatziki for kicks - lower calorie than salad dressing, and I think it tastes better anyway. Also, buy some flat bread and wrap your salad up - its much more satisfying (to me anyway). Oh! Also, baby sweet peppers are crunchy, sweet, delicious, and…

Thanks - I might try this, that's a really good idea. Usually its like, $1 / lb for weights, that would save me a ton of money, especially if I can find a barbell set that fits the dumbbell handles I already have. I mean, I definitely can't replace a power rack etc., but I'd feel a lot better running through a quick home…

Bah. I guess I could invest in some dumbells and do some lifting at home, although there's no way I can get afford the weights I'd need for deadlifts etc. If I lift light for a couple months will that slow my losses? Or is lifting light at home the same as not lifting at all? I suppose I could just do the "D For Done"…

If you're working out at home and can't afford to buy heavier weights, there's a couple ways you can go, depending on what you're trying to do. A: lurk on craigslist until you find someone selling weights for really cheap - it happens fairly frequently. B: Use your bodyweight to strength train, or if that is too easy for…

I've had mixed results - the scale at my gym measures me at 8% bodyfat (an extremely optimistic lie! lol) and my scale at home measures me at 16%. I just use them to track my relative progress - I have no idea what my actual bodyfat percentage is, but if I go from 16% to 15% at home, and from 8% to 7% at the gym, I know…

Alcohol, especially the super sweetened kind, beers, etc. can really ruin your fat loss goals. If you want to keep your calories down, try drinking straight liquor (on the rocks, shots, whatever), or mixing with diet soda. Just don't go too crazy! Check the calorie content of various liquors on MFP. Alternatively, you can…

5'8" Male.. Cons: Shorter than pretty much every other guy ever. Pros: Never hit my head on anything, or feel cramped in vehicles?? :(

"Honey, if you spent as much time power leveling your body as you do on your Skyrim hero, you would look like Solid Snake." That should do the trick. Just kidding, really though: Not everyone has aspirations to be athletic, so the idea of going for a walk or to the gym might seem like a huge annoying waste of de-stress or…

Also, what does your lifting routine look like? Lifts / Weight / Reps

It sounds like you want a recovery supplement, rather than a good protein source. Are you taking pure whey? Or does it have an added recovery blend of some sort? (L-Glutamine, etc.) http://www.livestrong.com/article/108037-post-workout-recovery-supplements/ (Yes, whey is on this list) Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor or a…

I don't know how to check someones diary, but just taking a stab in the dark I'd say "eat enough protein, squat heavier". Maybe you should check out a lifting routine like StrongLifts or Starting Strength? http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/Bill_Starr_5x5 I can't guarantee that your butt wont GROW doing a strength…

You can get skin-fold calipers on amazon for pretty cheap, which are used to take measurements from different places on the body... unless you have actual training doing this however it doesn't seem very reliable. They also sell scales (walmart has them) that will tell you your BF% by running a current through your body..…
