My MD says 40% Carb, 30% Fat, 30% Protein is ideal for weight loss.

I tried! They don't have any nutrition info at all. Its a small local place, and our area does not require nutrition info to be provided.... :( Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up with a buffalo chicken salad (I asked what is in their hot sauce, and its just franks red hot). So, I calculated the lettuce, chicken…

sound of people chewing. Sets me off!! Any eating sounds at all irritate the S$%@ out of me!!!

I start with a quick inventory of my existing groceries and what I need to use up. Then, I grab a sheet of paper. I divide it into 21 boxes. One for each meal for 7 days. Then, I grab my fav low-cal cookbooks (or websites like skinnytaste, etc). I fill in the boxes with meals I know I want, like family favorites,…

I am proud of myself for having a small handful of almonds within the first 30 mins of waking! (My MD has been telling me to do it...but I am always "too busy") I'm proud of myself for making a plan for my workout tonight, instead of just winging it!

You have more than just a chance! You WILL do this. You have to think that you WILL do this! Visualize yourself accomplishing your goal. Even small ones. Visualizations help change your mindset and can help you to reach your goals. It's fantastic that your daughter is enjoying your workouts!! Makes you feel less guilty…

Oh- and I already had two slices...but the binger in my wants to have more :(

I manage my hunger by managing the type of food I eat. I could eat 1500 cals of carbs and still be starving. But, eat those same cals in protein and healthy fat and i will be full. My goal is 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. I don't always hit those goals, but I try.

Start slow. Small changes at a time. One goal. One small goal. Like instead of eating the family sized bag, have a serving (according to the nutrition facts). Do it one night and see how it feels. Did you feel proud? Excited? Motivated? Go from there. Small, easily attainable goals will give you confidence and motivation.…

Sometimes when you begin a workout routine, you will see either no loss or a small gain. Don't fret about it. Just keep doing what you're doing, and you will see a loss. Also- if you are WAY under your calorie goal, your body isn't getting the nutrition it needs to fuel the exercise you are doing. Try to be as close to…

also, I think that very few women are in "DENIAL" about being a larger body type. Either they know it and are doing something about it... or they know it, and are ok with it. Nobody is a size 24 and thinks they're a size 12.

When you carry weight in your legs, there is often cellulite and other bumps that are hidden by longer pants. You can still tell that there is weight there, but you don't have to show the cellulite, bumps, spider veins, and other discoloration that often comes with carrying weight in your legs. People tend to look at my…

I think that the clothing and modeling industry has largely ignored women of a larger size. I think that this is good because it will increase awareness that people come in all sizes. There are large women (like me) that are doing something about our weight, but we still need to buy clothing in our current size, and still…

Carbs are a monster. The more you have, the more you want. They make your blood sugar spike, and then drop quickly, so you crave more carbs. Maybe have some protein when you are craving carbs. It will give you more sustained energy and prevent the blood sugar roller coaster. I know how you feel though. I have the cravings…

Not sure. Not enough info to tell if we have anything in common.

Me too! I'm a mom to 1 toddler, and have over 100 lbs to lose! Looking for friends in a similar situation. Especially with open diaries so we can compare and learn from eachother!!

Hi! I relate to you 100%!! I'm a momma to one toddler and I gained 100 lbs that I can't get rid of. My goal weight is 180. Love to chat! Add me!

Way to go! I'm on a 6 day streak! I am highly motivated right now, but I usually end up slacking around the middle of week 2. I'm really hoping that it doesn't happen this time. Going to keep reading the motivational posts, and making small changes that I can stick to easily. Those will help buoy my motivation... i hope.

Lol. apparently I didn't read through all the pages before I posted the same thing you did! Great minds think alike!

Take a banana and cut it into small pieces. Then put it in the freezer until its frozen. Pop in the blender, and its ICE CREAM!!! You can add a sprinkle of cocoa powder, or even a little PB in the blender if you want. YUMMY and lo-cal! Feels like I'm cheating

I do that too a lot of the time. However my sneaky eating is after my husband falls asleep. Ive been trying to get a handle on the late night snacking, and I think its a lack of protein through the day. Carbs are addicting too. Once I have one high carb /high sugar item, I am in a frenzy for more. I just try to say no.…

In the winter, fleece lined tights are GREAT! Otherwise I dont really wear dresses in the summer. Any type of shorts or leggings underneath makes me too hot. I would rather wear just the shorts or leggings. Once you get to a certain weight, baby powder and body glide just cause more chafing. I wish I could wear dresses…
