Hi guys. I am having a meeting at a Burrito place. Its a local place. No nutrition info on their menu or website. I have no clue how to even begin to track something there. How do you manage that? Just overestimate? I'll prob end up with some sort of salad with chicken and veggies.... but I'm not sure if they use marinades on the chicken, etc.

The only thing you can really do is pick something in the database that seems close & go with that.

Honestly, there is no way you can log properly. Estimating is like throwing a random number out there which is useless.

you can only estimate. make sure you leave enough calories from the rest of the day to allot to the meal. usually you can build your own burrito so choose less calories-dense toppings if you wish. you'll most likely be able to watch them put it together so then just "eyeball" the amounts of each ingredient.

You have a few choices - 1) pick the closest thing in the database, 2) find the nutrition info for a restaurant that is listed and has a similar item to what you ate and log that, 3) take your best guess as to what is in your food and log it all separately (i.e. 2 cups lettuce, 3 oz chicken, etc...) you can quick add some calories to cover any hidden items...

Somewhere, they have a brochure or they'll be able to show you packaging that may have the nutrition info on it. If you're really nice about it they'll usually look for you, even more so because you're bringing them a large amount of people and supporting local food!

Watch them carefully when they make it and estimate portions for each individual ingredient. Get the small size, tell them to go easy on the cheese and rice, and just say no to guacamole. Very likely it'll be ~700-900 anyway

I tried! They don't have any nutrition info at all. Its a small local place, and our area does not require nutrition info to be provided.... :(

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up with a buffalo chicken salad (I asked what is in their hot sauce, and its just franks red hot). So, I calculated the lettuce, chicken breast, sauce, bleu cheese dressing (it came in a 2 oz cup on the side!!). Prob not the most accurate...however it was better than nothing!! Appreciate all the help!
