Interesting thought! I can't really go that far off my path - it's just too hard to get back on. I get triggered by pasta and anything with sugar - then I spend days trying to release them again. I find it's better to take a day at a time- I am in moderation with all foods - that helps me make the lifestyle change I need…

Making it tonight - it is awesome you really can't tell the difference. Make it like you would with regular ground beef. Give it a try!

You are doing great! So glad you health is better! I agree once I started getting in the community - I started to see some success. Tough to handle things like this in isolation! Best of luck on your journey!

You can meet your weight loss goals without exercise - so just do the best you can and watch your calories! You can do this!

There is a good chart on this link that compares serving sizes to common items. It is good to weigh your food, but this helps when you are at a restaurant or something - so you can just eat a serving of the super serving you are usually served at a restaurant. http://web.mit.edu/athletics/sportsmedicine/wcrservings.html

Glad you are here! I had the same thought for a long time - just using MFP to track my food. I now really use the community on here and that has made a huge difference for me. I really didn't think I needed the community - but the encouragement really makes a huge difference - and it's also holds me accountable. Good luck…

I gained weight because I was consuming 2000+ calories a day without exercise. MFP tells me for my weight, size and activity level I should eat 1200 calories. I am finally after several years of yo yoing the same few pounds - truly losing weight. So no matter what you read - you have to figure out for you how much you can…

Mine is public. I have asked for comments in the past and had some negative theads, but I asked for it. Anytime someone comments I have a choice how I want to receive it - I can take the advice or not. I find secrets have a lot more power over my eating habits - then a few negative comments. In other words if it is private…

We all have to eat - it's counter-intuitive but it works! If you exercise you have to eat back the calories - your body is telling you the answer - we all just have to listen. We are so used to crash dieting and limiting food that we can't get out heads around eat more lose more when we exercise. I, too, hate to cook and I…

Your pictures are not coming through.

If he doesn't really have a problem - then whatever he is doing is working. If you are asking that it might make him over emphasize his eating - then you might unconsciously think he might. In that case, I would hold off. If he was overweight and really junking it up - then it might be a good thing. Great message Food as…

I think a more balanced diet works best for me. Sugar in general triggers me to eat more sugar. Also I have low blood sugar - so it can impact me. Try and get some protein in there to balance it out. Awhile back (before MFP) I ate nuts and fruit (I called it my Monkey diet) and I gained weight. So I am trying hard to…

I think I'm the opposite - I saw myself as skinny in the mirror - but had a huge wake up call when I saw a family photo we took at Christmas - just didn't see how fat my face was until then. I guess we just get used to seeing ourselves one way and don't let that go very easily. I think for me pictures tell the real story -…

Fill a pan with water and place the egg inside - bring the water to boiling - then set a timer for 10 minutes - when the timer goes off remove from the stove and run cold water over it. Once the egg is cooled you should be able to peel it and eat it. Good luck!

Try just a teaspoon of peanut butter - it's smaller than the serving size of 2 tablespoons and sometimes it's just enough to satisfy your hunger. I agree with the water comments too, but that might interrupt your sleep later. Look at what you are eating for dinner too, I find if I eat any kind of pasta - I am really hungry…

Defininately wine- less fat -won't get triggered by the sugar and chocolate in the cookie.

Nice to see something friendly on here today! A great reminder to look for the good in others!

I agree that forcing a ton of food quickly isn't the healthiest thing you could do. I'm curious, do you feel like you have something emotionally going on that you feel out of control with? Emotional eating issues can include restricting food as well as overeating. I know when I am upset, I tend to not eat. If you don't…

This happens to all of us. If you think about your healthy eating like a straight line like this A___________________B. With "A" representing where you were before and "B" representing where you want to be, the quicker you get back on the line the faster you will meet your goal. We all fall off the line on occassion -…

Great Job! Keep going - happy 50th pound lost!

Awesome post! I just commented this morning on someone wanting to lose 10lbs in a week or something. Slow and steady, perseverance and patience is what gets you to your goal. It's about a lifestyle change, not a crash diet! Do it for you and you'll win everytime!

Crash dieting always ends in a crash! You might be able to accomplish it, but it will take a huge toll on your body and you will probably put it all back on and more after it! Be kind to yourself! All or nothing doesn't work to well - balance is the key and that takes patience and perseverance.

Walden Farms makes a no calorie salad dressing. It's usually above the bags of lettuce in the produce section. It does have sodium so you still need to watch how much you are using - but it really helps for the calories. Also if you put your dressing on the side in a little deep bowl - you can dip your fork in before you…

It can be very frustrating - I have to avoid the scale it's just doesn't move fast enough. Just stay with it - I've gone from a size 12 to a size 6 in 90 days - so it's working - but only 12 lbs lost about a pound a week. I have huge fluctuations on the scale as well go for two weeks a lot and only lose 1 lb - but my…

I am very similar. I am 5'4" and want to lose 25 lbs. I am half way there at 12 lbs lost. I have been seriously trying on MFP for the last 90 days. I have gone from a size 12 to size 6 in that period of time. It is slow, but it is working. So if you are noticing your body fat dropping then just stay with what you are doing…

How long have you been working your plan on here? I have been on for 90 days - while I have my goals set for 1 lb a week loss, there are weeks that I don't lose anything according to the scale. But when I average out the 12 lbs loss over the 90 days it is 1 lb a week. I have also gone from size 12 to now a size 6 - I…

11 lbs in 11 weeks. Good with that - Although some weeks the scale doesn't move at all - but when I average out the days on MFP and lbs lost - it works out to a lb a week.

When you eat something bad and plug it in and find out it has a million calories or very high sodium - just go straight to denial - no logging required.

I always feel the authentic approach works best - maybe try and talk to him again in a calm place and share what you are feeling. Then whatever happens, happens but at least you were able to be yourself.

How about a veggie omelet - might go good with the salad and chicken.
