I just emailed my local humane society about this. What a great concept. At the very least when I get back to the States I am going to try to adopt this approach. If I'm going to go for a jog or a walk, why not take a fuzzy buddy along with me? :)

I do yoga and general stretches in between sets when I strength train. 30 min stretches over the space of 1.5 - 2 hours makes a big difference for me.

smith machine = evil. dumbbells = good. :)

I don't want to alarm you...but have this checked out by a doctor or two. That is weird and definitely not normal if it is exactly as you are describing //your health isn't something you wan to gamble with and there are some really wacky ideas that float around here on these boards and people that have no idea what in the…

In the mornings when I do cardio I don't eat...low blood sugar means the workout is harder, but you'll use more from reserves (ie fat). I can tell a difference when I've eaten a couple of hours before I do cardio...I feel like I'm on steroids. When I do strength training I eat about an hour beforehand. Cardio calls on the…

Got a friend who is a bio chemist that does a lot of clinical trials on supplements and is a health freak. He said set your calories intake to 35/35/30 carbs/protein/fat.....get an even number of carbs from fat as well as protein. People are always looking for a new angle and a shortcut. Do an hour of cardio a day for 3…

What is BMR? //OK...read up on that. Wouldn't it be more accurate to reduce your RMR? ///Still reading up on this....this is a very good point you make.

My guess is that if it doesn't get to a vet soon and start getting some nutrients this little guy isn't going to make it.

Maybe I'm odd...I could care less what anyone else is doing. :/

For a good gym mp3 player check out the sansa clip+ or sansa clip zip....both with rockbox firmware. For $40 you can have mp3 player with 40gigs of storage and far more capable than an iPod. I really do fear that society is just becoming a bunch of mindless consumers who can't objectively think or really evaluate the…

When I'm old and less tech savvy and want to make trendy purchases I'll go with Apple. For the time being, though I'm fairly adept technically and prefer the freedom and highly adaptable environment that Android offers. Want another case in point...ZOMG IPOD IS THE BEST EVER. Yet, if you ever pick up a Cowan mp3 player and…

not sure if you can...just edit it and delete everything.

Apple is just too rigid and controlling. They lock their operating systems and devices down and make enhancement/innovation/adaptation very difficult.
-
I think people that need to be spoon fed will gravitate towards Apple, while people who are more technically proficient will migrate towards Android. Both are nice and capable, but you can go far more in depth with Android.

Do lots of cardio. Do strength training. Work on flexibility. Buy a Glock. That about covers everything.

I'm with you. I want to associate with people who are achieving and who are putting in the work.

What's small and screams and can't turn corners? A baby....with a spear through it.

If I'm doing cardio in the morning I don't eat. This means I work on low blood sugar and the body burns more fat. If I'm strength training I eat an hour before. Depends on what your goals are and your schedule is like.

I think if you use the search feature you'll find this topic has been asked about 9999999999 times. Not trying to be rude, but after I see the same question posted so many times it's tough not to get a little impatient. //edit..sorry. I'm really not a rude person, but really...use if you do a search for this there are a…

Marines/National Guard/Dirty Contractor...in that order. :)

^^This. I believe most of the detox stuff going on is just some kind of ritualistic/psychological fad.

Please don't think I'm being rude when I say this, but if you do a search of 'HRM' you'll find this topic has been discussed at great length about 300 times. FYI I have the Timex also...I use it to keep me at my particular HR when doing cardio, but it's ability to estimate calories burned is silly.

ditto....i drink lots of it.

A friend of mine who is a bio chemists that works for a supplement company, is a fitness fanatic and has a LOT of published research suggested it. For some reason carbs (NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOO!!!!) are a dirty word. Do as you please. :) In the same way that cardio has gotten a bad rap in recent months on these boards, it's…

Also, I would suggest setting your proteins/carbs/fat in MFP to 35/35/30....try to get an equal number of calories from carbs and protein.

I weigh 275lbs and am in fairly good shape. My daily protein goal is 260grams. Something is weigh off in your estimation.
