Wow! Alot to digest. You guys are so knowlegable. :) I think that I am actually going to print out a calendar for myself with each workout already typed in. I am more visual. After each workout checking them off. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, but breaking days into more manageable segments all written out, I think will…

Thanks for commenting. :) I wear a heart rate monitor for calorie burn. On average, over the last two months I burn approximately 1200-1400 from my workouts weekly. I am going to try to train for a half marathon in March. I really don't have much equipment for lifting. I have 2 15#each dumbbells. I know my son has some…

Enell. The best. Lock and loaded and ready for action. Worth the money, for sure!

I second that! :) OP- congratuations! That is pretty impressive. Take the time to pat yourself on the back and then keep running

Original poster-- It's a month later. Are you still running? Have you progressed passed week 4? Have you gotten any faster? Come on..... inquiring minds want to know.

keeping my eye on this :)

Very sad. I offered one to my husband and daughter. I left the room. When I came back in 1 minute later I asked if they were liking it. I then noticed that neither still had them. My daughter fessed up that she threw it away and my husband threw it out the window!! I will be trying mine for dessert. I hope that I will like…

Thanks for all the responses. Other than the elevated heartrate, I think most of my trouble is mental. I need to remind myself that I CAN do this - just keep going. Maybe that's a mantra that even the most advanced runner needs to use sometimes. I will keep chugging along :)

Why does it I feel like a total failure if I have to walk a little? I am up to running for a mile and then walking for 2 minutes and then joggin another mile. My pace is slow (13:00/min mile). I just feel like I need to get my heart rate down some before I can continue. Should I just keep doing this and reduce the walking…

Not 50 pounds in3 months. 50 pounds in a year and a half. I was losing weight and now that I added exercise the weight loss has screeched to a halt. No more loss in the past 7 weeks

Thanks! I guess I'm trying to find the ideal way to success.

Do not let your self consciousness stop you from running outside. One sunny day I was "running" outside when I looked at the ground and noticed my shadow. I could see my fat jiggling up and down. If I can continue after seeing that, YOU too can run outside. Still don't love running where I'm on display but I do it anyway.…

Stick with it. Be faithful doing it 3 or 4 times a week. Don't worry about speed. Go slower than you think you should. I think that most of the hard part of running is mental. Don't listen to the voice in your head that tells you to stop. You can do it!

bump for comfusion's sake

superstar!!!! That's a great accomplishment. Keep up the great work!!:drinker:

Don't be discouraged. It's so much easier to listen to those negative thoughts, but don't! Personally, I think that you are eating too few calories. At 5'6" a 45 year old woman with an activity level of exercising between 1 and 3 hours a week should be eating around 1830 calories. That calorie goal is with the goal of…

bump - so eating lightly active calorie amount and workingout 3 x a week without eating back exercise calories or picking sedentary activity level but eat back exercise calories?

these recipes look yummy. Think I'll grill some up tonight!

Oh and on the days I run I also walk 20 minutes
-
Thanks! I'll give it a whirl. Nothing ventured, nothing gained -- oops, I mean lost:tongue:
-
I am 5'6'. I say "run" but I am super slow. I run for about 25-28 minutes 3 or 4 times a week.

Yup. I still don't like it. Just finished C25K W7D1. Still no fun. But, now an hour later, I love that I did it. Success!!
