As long as you keep some fat in your diet like oils "mono" and "poly" unsaturated and fat from dairy you should be fine. Protein is always ok to go over because you break it down slowly and keeps you full. Make sure you strength train when eating a bunch of protein so it will build lean muscle.

Go to a running store and they will "fit" you for your style. AND listen to them they are right. A good pair of running shoes will last at least 300 miles, but only wear them for running.

I log mine under "circuit training" and just input the calories in from my heart rate monitor.

get a gps watch or a heart rate monitor to make sure you are not overeating your calories burned. Also do weight training it helps

I am pretty sure 1200 calories would not be enough for you right now. You need to figure in if you are exercising, and if you are breastfeeding. If you go to low in calories your body goes into starvation mode and you will have a harder time loosing weight. I am a nurse and this is the info we give all of our new moms.
