Thank you all for the advice re: rest week. I think I will still do cardio but no weight training, at least not heavy weight training. I had a fantastic mental victory on Friday. Although I am not completely new to weight training, I am new to heavy weights. I had been doing my squats with the all-in-one barbells but once…

Hello everyone! I am almost done with Stage 1. Just Workouts 7 & 8, then the AMRAP workout. My question is: when you take a week off (if you do), do stop all exercise completely or just do other things? I'm thinking about taking a week off lifting but still getting cardio in. What has been best for you?

Last summer, I met up with a friend I hadn't seen since Christmas. She couldn't stop cursing, she was so shocked. It was the best reaction I've gotten yet!

It all depends on how you set up your profile. If you set your activity level to "sedentary", then YES you should eat back your calories. If you set it to "active" or "lightly active", then you should not. Since MFP has you at a calorie deficit whether you exercise or not, it all depends on your activity level. This post…

I started a Couch to 5K program April 2012. I couldn't run from one mailbox to another without thinking I was dying. Two weeks ago (almost a year to the day later), I ran my first half marathon. I've lost 75 pounds in the process, almost exclusively from running. SW: 228 CW: 153 GW: 125-128

You can also roast it whole. It's much easier to cut when it's been cooked, although it is a bit awkward getting it out of the oven.

Happy Friday, everyone! Fitness: I'm in my second round of C25K and I follow their training schedule. I always run. I've only skipped two or three times in the last 6 months, which is shocking for me. Lately, I've been trying to incorporate some strength training on the days I don't run, which I haven't been as consistent…

Since I didn't post yesterday, I'll do a Tuesday catch-up as well as Wednesday's check in! Goals: I'm running my second 5K on December 7. My goal is to run the entire race with no walking intervals and this seems completely within my grasp. Last night at my group run, I ran my fastest mile with an average of 12:43! I was…

Hello, everyone! I'm new to this thread, mostly because I am in need of some motivation from people who have similar weight loss goals. I started my journey in April, joined a Couch to 5K training program and never looked back. I've lost 41 pounds, about 10 inches, 3 sizes, and gained much, much more. I still run 4 days a…

I'm 5' 2" and did my first (true) Couch to 5k back in April. I started walking at 228 pounds (now at 188.5), finished the 5k with 2/1 intervals (run 2 minutes, walk 1 minute) in 56 minutes (which was a 17 minute mile average). Now I'm in my second session and my goal is to run the entire race. On a good day, I run a 12-13…
