My husband bought me a practically new machine with the bench and resistance pulleys last week at a garage sale ($40! He's a bargain shopper  ) Anyway, I've been using my dumbbells for my workouts, so I don't know what exercises match up on the machine - I've tried a few that are similar to how I use the dumbbells,…

I'm a 36DDD, and the chest strap doesn't bother me at all (was a little different the first time, but now I don't even notice it). I put it under the band of my bra right below the girls and it's fine... good luck! :flowerforyou:

That sounds really good about now, too - I'm ready for lunch!!!

Nope-no blood pressure issues here. My blood pressure is actually bordering the low side, so that's definitely not the cause for my headaches. But I do know many people who do have to watch their BP for that reason.

Thanks, guys - I stocked up on tuna and yogurt last night, and looked at the whey protein shakes, but have never used anything like that before and didn't know what they were like...I may go grab some yet.

I have awful migraines and daily headaches, and my neurologist just suggested a game plan that included, among many other things, more protein - 75g a day. I'm all for it if it will help me reduce my headaches, but I'm also trying to lose weight. Any suggestions for high protein foods that won't break my food bank?

This is good info. Thanks!:flowerforyou:

:frown: I have been changing up the intensity, and do other things like jumping jacks, but based on what's been said, I just want to know that my hr during cardio isn't too high to be doing me any good...

I'm not a biker, but I would think you should be able to do 18-20 miles a day if you time... Good luck and don't give up if it's something you really want to do.:drinker: Just don't hurt yourself!!!

That's kinda how I feel about getting the calories burned...I don't have a lot of time to exercise, but I want to burn as many calories as possible. I'm usually on the elliptical for 20-30 minutes with my hr rate anywhere from 80-95% (according to my hr monitor), and then I do my weight training, where I keep my heart rate…

Thanks for the info!

Wish I could help. They've given me several (Imitrex, Midrin, and Buteralol (sp?)-acetatminiphine-caffeine mix), and two different kinds of "cocktail" shots. nothing works:noway: .:grumble: I'm suppose to see a migraine specialist next week. If I find anything out, I'll let you know!

I think the idea behind it is right - good portions of healthy foods. The title "burrito diet" probably is giving people the wrong idea, but on the other hand, maybe it will get more people to read it (ie: people looking for "easy fixes"). And, if they read all the way through they'll find out that making healthy food…

I tried this a few years ago when I was trying pilates - it hurt my tailbone :ohwell: - was I not doing it right? Without mirrors in my living room, it's hard to tell whether I looked that that (well, I know I didn't look like that - if so I wouldn't be trying to lose weight!! ), but I felt like I was in that…

I usually do Kraft Zesty Italian on them when I grill or George Foreman them. It keeps them juicy and gives them some flavor.

I bought the Reebox also (at buy.com for 29.99 with free shipping). I got it a week ago and love the thing! It gives a better account of calories burned and tells you how hard you're working yourself for your heart rate. I think the key is getting that chest strap. Everything I've read about them says the chest strap makes…

I don't know about you guys, but I cannot read or concentrate on the tv when I'm on the eliptical. I'm working my *kitten* off! You can change the resistance, stride, etc and do intervals. I know I've seen results using the eliptical. It's also so much better on my knees than just about anything else I've tried, so I think…

I guess the one that surprised me the most were the 60 minutes of strength-training - 630 calories! I'm guessing part of that is because this was right after using the elliptical for 30 minutes and 10 of calisthenics, but the during the strength-training I kept my heart-rate up there where it was for the calisthenics, so…

Good to know. I will probably eat some, but not all of the calories I enter now. Thanks!

Yep - it has the chest strap. I'm happy to hear that others have the same "problem" of the HRM being higher. I definitely feel like I've worked that hard and always thought "wow, that's it" when I enter my exercise calories here, but figured it must be close (if not high according to a lot of those whose HRMs register…

I know this topic has been covered before, but I didn't find anything that addressed my situation. I just got an HRM and wore it today for the first time, after programming my height, weight, sex, activitiy level, etc. in, and it showed me burning more calories than the MFP database typically does. I know most people say…

I use to do her "Walk Away the Pounds for the Abs" which has a arm band/belt with it - I loved it!!! But, a year ago we moved into an old (like 1850's) house that shakes when I walk (even when my puny kids walk, so it's not just my fat a** ) So, there went her videos and my tae-bo, and got me joining the…

I don't have a Chatty Cathy, I have a Clanking Cal. He's sooooo annoying. There are signs on the walls saying "Click, Don't Clank" for the weight machines. Well, this guy comes in thinking he's hot stuff (and let me tell you, he's not!) and proceeds to set the weights on the machines he's using to some ungodly amount. Then…

These are so funny! I've gotten something similar via email, but these are even better! Thanks for the much-needed laugh!

Okay - I know we're big kids and should be able to do this ourselves, but if this is the case, why doesn't MFP take this into account when we're entering our exercise? Everything says we're suppose to eat a good chunk of our exercise calories, but if entering our exercise is going to give more calories than we should eat,…

I'm with ya - those with less on top that are always complaining have no idea how easy they have it not having to worry about things like this and spaghetti straps, etc. Not fair!:grumble:
-
I looked into those too, but my hubby wasn't too thrilled with me spending that much (especially since as a guy, he wasn't all that unhappy with the, um, bounce?:blushing: ) So, I went to Kohl's and got a good Champion. You can get them in larger sizes - thank god! They really hold ya all together and they're about $30…

Maybe calisthenics - vigourous (it includes situps, pushups, jumping jacks, etc.)

Buy.com has this one on sale for $29.99 & free shipping. It's fairly inexpensive, but all I've heard it's great - I just bought one: Reebok Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor w/Chest Strap

Thank you so much for posting that! I have been looking for an HRM that didn't cost a lot but still worked. I just ordered it - Thanks!:flowerforyou:
