  • It's a long standing bug. Report it and hope they finally get round to fixing it.
  • Planks. Planks. Planks.
  • MFP and Apple watch Sync is broken. There are many threads about this. Email MFP and complain, hopefully they'll fix it.
  • It's 100% a bug. Email MFP and moan about it. The more people do, hopefully the quicker it'll be fixed.
  • The reason a lot of people "don't feel it in their cores" through squatting, is cos they ain't lifting much. Try doing a few 1.5x - 2x bodyweight squats without a solid core and get back to us, ain't happening. I get that not everyone wants, or can, do that must weight. That's what's great about exercising, there's always…
  • Reading in the support threads it looks like Fitbit syncing is also broken again. No idea what MFP are playing at but they really need to fix syncing of fitness trackers once and for all.
  • I just checked a few other apps I have and they don't have this double up of data, but I also see it from MPF. Some apps seem to have no issues reading (or writing) to Apple's data stream so I can only assume it's MFP. Like the poster a few posts back I've also looked at other apps, there are those which work perfectly…
  • Again, it's just data heybales. A few simple numbers. MFP has never been good at syncing fitness trackers, it took them over 2 years to get a fitbit working. It's a 15min fix to add another tracker to their calculations. Stop blaming Apple. I think the issue is more that MFP insists on using "their" calculations. If there…
  • The iphone already has the best app for abs. It's called the stopwatch. Do planks. Front and sides. Time yourself. Try to hold them for longer each time. Done.
  • You'll find the sync is broken though. It tracks workouts fine, but doesn't credit you with extra active cals from your move ring. So steps, etc, aren't counted. There are a few threads about this if you search, I encourage you to email myfitnesspal, the more people that do the sooner they'll fix it. Regards, Simon
  • MFP and Apple Watch don't play nice. There's a detailed thread about it here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10661493/apple-watch-steps-on-mfp/p1 More people that moan about it on that thread (and report to MFP) the sooner it'll get fixed, although I wouldn't hold your breath.
  • Sorry I have no idea what you're talking about really. "Your #1 says to turn off MFP math, as it sounds like you've done with premium, so your eating goal isn't changed based on anything that syncs in." I set my Macro's per day based off an IF calc depending if it's a Workout or Rest day. I don't add in any activity…
  • You can already buy premium and disable calorie adjustment from trackers and exercise, as you are suggesting. But if you are doing #1 - why does it matter to do #2 then with calories? Is MFP that much better than Apple watch as an exercise diary that you'd rather review your movement data here? Why couldn't Apple just send…
  • "Sadly it's a bug on Apple's side of the house. Or rather a different way of doing it than any other tracker, and different than MFP is setup to work as." This has nothing to do with Apple. It's been an issue with MFP for years. All that is required to be fixed is the following.. 1. Have a setting in MFP to turn off their…
  • Just to check this... you measured this over a 24 hour period?
  • Check if you device is reporting KJ not KCal's looks like it might be the former and that would explain the high number.
  • 2600 from activity? What did you do? Run a marathon?
  • Best advice I ever got was to start doing deadlifts. I sit at a desk a lot also. If I don't do deads for a few weeks I notice it big time. When I deadlift I never have back / rounding issues.
  • I don't get the same feeling from flat bench dumbbells either. Flyes are more of a stretch. If you want a burn / pump feeling try adding a set or two of drop sets at the end of your main working sets. So something like.. Max weight - 20% for 8 reps. Drop those and quickly... Max weight - 40% for 12 reps. Drop those and…
  • The whole Apple Watch integration issue comes up again and again. After going research on it myself about how MFP measures it's own actively level I just left it and ignore steps. I wish they had an option to take the MFP equation out of the mix and just report all Apple Watch data, including steps. The fact this comes up…
  • [/quote] Just keep in mind the difference between active and active + resting cals. Fitbits combine where as Apple Watch reports only active cals you've burnt over what you would have at rest anyhow. I see this mistake all the time. People recording 800cals for a cardio workout but not understanding that 300-350 of those…

  • The only sure fire way to get close (it'll never be perfect) is tracking heart rate. That's why some of these Apple Watch apps track really well. It's all about tracking your heart rate over time.
  • "I find the exact opposite to be true. My fitbit usually gives me about 100 cals every 10min of strength training which is high. My smart watch will give me even higher numbers, for 50 min workout I burn like 560 to 600 cals. I just assume those numbers need to be halved, and then I don't care. Because I aim for my MFP…
  • Lunges. That's all you need. Do walking Lunges. 4-5 sets of 16 (8 per leg). If you find those easy add a few kg's to each hand. Increase this weight by 1kg every week. Come back after that and tell me it doesn't hurt / work.
  • There are some Apple Watch apps that measure strength training well via heart rate. It's way less than you'd think. I burn about 250-300cals for a hard hours workout (active cals). Then again most cardio workouts are reported incorrectly anyhow. Most show resting cals + active cals which is wrong. 800cals active from a…
  • "cant stop eating sweets" Don't buy them. If they aren't in the house, you can't eat them.
  • So from your posts.. You're eating 1250 cals per day? You're burning 1500 cals per day from exercise? Let's add another 1500 (I'd guess more but whatever) cals per day resting cal burn. So that's: 1250 cals per day in. 3000 cals per day out. I estimate you'll be dead within a year from starvation, if you don't pass out and…
  • "Also, just recently found that I am insulin resistant and I feel like that may also be preventing loss?!!!??" How did you find this out?
