I went through this! Keep up on the fluids and play around with your diet a bit. I found taking out all processed carbs and limiting my salt + sugars worked. Eating back my exercise calories helped too. Don't get discouraged!

Thank you so much for this! My current lunch/dinner is usually some protein with veggies. I think what I need to do is be more conscious of my veggies and fruit.
-
Thank you! I've done the basics but I think I need to restrict my fruit and legume servings more.

I'm trying to keep my NET carbs under 100g a day. Question for everyone... what do you meals typically look like? I'm trying to figure out how people can keep their carbs so low (under 50g).

Swimming or perhaps stationary bike. I started out with walking and yoga (but make sure to get some GOOD walking shoes).
-
Yes because I'm keeping track of my carbs and fiber.

Healthy BMI range but ultimately going for health (Blood sugar, BP, and cholesterol). If that means stopping at 160 lbs or 135 lbs etc. I'm fine with that :)

Stuffed mushrooms, curry with quinoa, I make "pasta" with shredded zucchini and spaghetti squash a lot. Lunch I tend to have either leftovers or the wrap idea is awesome! I recently tried out this recipe: http://pinchofyum.com/healthy-fettucine-alfredo SO GOOD! I have a dairy intolerance so I swapped out the cream and…

Past experience has taught me if your immediate family doesn't like him MOVE ON. They can obviously see something you can't/are blinded to.

Salmon sashimi all the way! My fave place makes a tofu karaage that is to die for!

I own a Subaru and love it! My only issue with Hyundai is for the price you can get a Toyota or Honda (which has long standing reliability). I've haven't researched infiniti much.

Yep! I was 150lbs all through high school and my early 20's. I could get down to the low 140's and be ok, anything lower I looked like I needed a cookie.

5'6" and my goal weight is between 140 - 150lbs although my UGW would be 120 - 130lbs. I'll see what happens as I get closer :)

It might be useful to clarify what model of FitBit you are using since there seems to be various ones out now.
-
FitBit is nice for goal setting and long-term wear (it really is just a fancy pedometer). I just purchased a HRM FT7 for $70.00 off of Amazon and I LOVE it! I feel confident in it's ability to accurately estimate calories burned and HR.

I work in the video game industry and its split. We have the die-hard junk food lovers (Five Guys across the street) but the majority are very health conscious and will bring in lunches. I love love love the salad bar at Metropolitan Market and Whole Foods so that's where I typically go for lunch. I'm trying to get better…

There are a lot of nice yogurt dip recipes out there. I've used a couple of these in the past: http://www.theyummylife.com/Yogurt_Fruit_Dips

I've pretty much gained back everything I lost over the past year... BUT motivation to start ramping back up, I've got a 5K in May.

Hoping to do this in Seattle in May! Good luck :)

Positive reinforcement and speak with HR about the hygiene issues. If this person is your assistant I would honestly sit down and speak with him. Maybe he's not aware of the errors he's making? If he doesn't shape up it then talk to your boss and lay it all out. If your boss after that doesn't follow through I would take…

None of my doctors have been obese but this is reason #1 why I'm apprehensive about pursuing a degree in Nutrition. I feel people would be judgemental because I'm not at a healthy weight (yet).

My favorite as of late, stick some chicken breast in the slow cooker (frozen is ok too), water, salsa or canned tomatoes, and taco spice packet. Put on low for 4 - 6 hours, once the chicken is done shred with two forks and eat! We have taco night or I've been eating it over salad too. My fave spice packet is from Trader…

Ditto :( I killed it W5D3 and was able to run for the entire 20 minutes but W6D1 was B A D. Mostly because my knees are killing me. I hobbled through W6D1 & W6D2 and skipped W6D3 in lieu studying for an exam I have tomorrow. I'm going to repeat W6 again next week - ice, yoga, and keeping to low impact exercise seem to be…

W6D1 I couldn't walk afterwards my knees were killing me! Doing some research a la Dr. Google it could be because my quad's aren't as strong as they could be. That combined with not stretching enough can put things out. I'm planning to try W6D2 on Friday but really take the time to stretch and warm up to see if that helps.…

Thank you Lorina and Sara! Something that I also need to consider is my weight (70lbs overweight atm), but hopefully with the time I'm leaving myself it should be fine

WOW a half-marathon that's awesome! Thank you for your comment, it's good to hear what worked for other people so I gauge my own training.
