  • I think the same about myself, I'm also slim in clothes but lots of fat when I see myself.. I think it's just that I need to start toning up and doing strengthening exercises. I made a thread last week about it and someone mentioned the You Are Your Own Gym. I just typed "You Are Your Own Gym PDF free" into google and…
  • Hi thanks, yes.. I have space for a fitness DVD. I did Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred, so maybe I can do Insanity.. Although from what I have heard it sounds pretty intense.
  • I just found the book online... It looks really good so far and seems perfect for someone reluctant to go to the gym! Thanks!
  • I'm 21, soon to be 22
  • There's a gym, but my university is in Central London. It's for students and also members of the public. It's not included in tuition and it's very expensive and very small. I went once during my first year but it was so overcrowded and there were queues for machines. There's other gyms in London of course... But I am…
  • If it's really bad, go to your doctor. I take something called 'mefenamic acid' and it really helped with my cramps, they completely disappeared. Before that, I tried various over the counter stuff and it never worked. When I had cramps, I would faint, throw up, spend all day in bed, go pale, be unable to move. If this is…
  • Thank you... I will take note of the squats not with the dumbbells, as once I have finished with the 3 lb ones, I will have exhausted my collection! I was just wondering what you meant by burning more than I consume. I eat maybe around 1500ish calories a day each week, when I exercise I burn maybe 300. Is this burn too…
  • I think it depends on time of day when you run and when you go to sleep. Sometimes I feel really energised after runs and cannot sleep. It sounds kind of strange what the guy said about those who don't need to should run, maybe it was a joke that went flat?
  • I think it could also be that you are too scrunched up and need to relax you shoulders or have very loose arms. Sometimes when I am running my hands feel a bit numb, so I tend to shake out my arms whilst running to stop that. You could try this... People around you might think it's weird but it might help to shake it out…
  • I think they are a good way to get a lot of nutrients/vegetables in your body quickly. I'm a vegetarian, so I mostly make green smoothies and use spirulina and lots of vitamin C fruits, so that I absorb iron. It makes me feel good drinking smoothies because I know what's in them, they taste good and I feel like I'm eating…
  • I have read before in a magazine that just walking in heels every day when you are at work or out and about can tone up your leg/calf. It doesn't persuade me to wear them though.
  • This has got so out of control... Maybe the OP is using Rihanna's body for inspiration and motivation, not to actually be her clone... She hasn't yet told us she's after a recording contract. There's no need to insult her further. In her first post she is just asking what kind of exercises Rihanna likely does, which isn't…
  • I agree... She probably does have some cellulite, but photoshop works wonders.
  • Ohh, I'm sorry! I'm sure they have something very similar though in the shops over there. It's just a big pot of yoghurt, next to where the greek and fat-free yoghurts are.. But it's not really greek yoghurt, it tastes just like normal yoghurt but it's fat-free and comes in several flavours.
  • Yes... I hope when I am 94 years old my legs will look as good, so I'd be very interested in some tips
  • I like Onken yoghurt, my favourite is the vanilla flavour. It doesn't taste tangy to me! :)
  • Hi, nice to meet you! I'm 21, soon to be 22. I'm trying to get healthier too and also lose some weight :D
  • The week before I get lots of cravings and tend to eat more crisps and pizza and stuff like that. Maybe that makes me a cheat, but whatever... I don't go on to eat a full roast dinner after eating some crisps and pizza! The actual week of I don't eat so much because I feel so bloated and sick. I tend to just lounge around…
  • I think it can depend on what kind of yoga you are doing, but it does burn some calories. You can do yoga for weightloss where you end up sweating loads and really feel the burn or you can do light yoga where you're doing more relaxing poses and stretches. If you have itunes, there's some free yoga video podcasts on there.…
  • I was embarrassed to start running also. I'm a self-conscious person and I got anxious that people would stare at me or laugh. So I know where you're coming from. But what I did was go running when less people were around, for example, in the morning or afternoon when people were at work or at school (I'm a student so my…
  • I guess the main point was exercise is good, but it isn't a substitute to eat whatever you like afterwards. And I understand the experiment that people who exercised were too tired after and just wanted to sit around. Maybe it is at that point that they would also eat a lot more (eat back the calories they exercised off…
  • I think you just eventually have to convince yourself that maybe 30 minutes of embarrassment is worth how your body will look in the end. I live in a shared flat and I just started doing 30 day shred again this week. Every time I finish my friend asks if someone is having sex in the flat.... That would be me jumping around…
  • I'm a vegetarian and I like vegetables, so I eat healthy things anyway. But I still have crisps and chocolate. I just make sure I count the calories and don't go over. I think if I completely cut out food I enjoyed I wouldn't motivated at all.
  • Hi I am also at college. I started at 153 lbs and now I am at 134, so I can relate to you definitely! :)
  • I bought a good sports bra, to make sure no jiggle. Then I have some elasticated figure hugging short trousers. They maybe make things jiggle, but then it's ok because it's easier to exercise in and everyone seems to wear them - no matter what size - where I live, so there is absolutely no judgement. And then for a top I…
  • Wow, you look completely different! I had to look back at the old photos just to check! Well done!
  • I woke up with aching legs today and last night I went clubbing, and walking up the stairs was quite painful on my muscles! But I'm going to push through day 2 later on today! :)
  • I agree about measurements, you can track them on my fitness pal where you track your weight. It's annoying that the ticker doesn't go down, but the ability to fit into clothes is definitely a sign you're doing something right! So well done!
