If you want to weigh yourself everyday, knock yourself out. Just keep in mind that your weight can fluctuate from day to day for many reasons, most commonly water retention.

Its always hardest at first. When I first started counting my calories and being serious about getting healthy, eating within my goal was so hard. Here are a few on my suggestions that have helped me. 1. Research what your true BMR and TDEE is. Eat more than your BMR but less then TDEE. 1200 is below BMR for most people…

My gym plays decent music, but I don't listen to it. I like my audiobooks while I'm peddling away on the bike.

I think they may be referring to this nasty stuff they give you to drink before the colonoscopy. It has you on the toilet for the entire night before. Had one a few years ago, was not fun.

Active recovery works best for me. If I am totally inactive I end up feeling worse. I will do low intensity exercise, swimming or a brisk walk, etc. Also, if you are experiencing a lot of soreness, consider how far you are pushing yourself. You don't want to workout so hard that you end up not being able to work out at all…

It all depends on how you entered your activity level. If you selected sedentary then you would want to enter all your walking etc. But if you selected lightly active (or higher) due to your normal activity of walking a lot or your daily exercise, then you wouldn't want to enter your activities. I personally have my…

My theory. Heated threads generate repeat views. MFP makes money from ads. Having users return to see the flame fest thus generates more money. Why close threads that have people coming back again and again when site hits makes yous $$.

http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ I use the Katch-McArdle formula. I have been netting at a 15% deficit and losing weight very well. I hardly ever feel hungry and have plenty of energy.

The Mayo Clinic article says nothing about "kicki starting" your metabolism. The other 2 sources cited by Livestrong do not cite any sources of the information. FYI - Prior references will appear as at the bottom of the Mayo Clinic article. If you don't see prior source citation like this, don't believe it. Find another…

It would be best to discuss this with your doctor. They will know best based on your medical issues. Don't trust random strangers on the internet.

Looked through your diary. Are you using a HRM to get the calories burned you entered or are you using MFP values? MFP tends to over estimate, you are eating all the calories back + more. This could result is less of a deficit then you think. Track everything! You didn't log at all on several days and some days seem only…

1. If you HRM doesn't have a chest strap, its trash return it and get one with a chest strap. 2. Be sure you moisten the sensors on the chest strap before using 3. Be sure your personal settings are correct on the watch (Height, Weight, Sex, Age, etc) 4. Be sure your HR is being received by the watch. Some tricks if your…

So you cook 4 servings, that's 8 oz of pasta. You cook it in one big pot. I believe she is looking for the answer of what the cooked weight per serving would be in order to properly divide the 4 servings after cooking. I have never weighed my pasta after cooking, but I believe it would differ based on the type of pasta. I…

Don't use yoga DVDs, I do my own practice. I do like a Pilates video that is on Netflix, Crunch: Pick Your Spot Pilates.

over 900 calories for 90 minutes of walking, even up hill sounds rather high. Everyone is different though, if you are heavier you burn more calories. From your picture you don't look too heavy though. Are you sure the settings on your HRM are correct?
-
As mentioned, HRMs will not be accurate for calculating your daily burn. However there are other devices that can, Fitbit for example. There are also more scientific tests that can be done to determine a more accurate number. My gym does testing for this but its about $200. I personally use an online calculator to find my…

I never agreed with the weight watchers view on vegetables being "free". They are still 200 calories. Granted its a healthier choice then say 200 calories of cookies. Macros aside, calories are still calories.

^^^ My company actually disabled this in our email system for a while.

There aren't any exercises I have ever heard of that will tighten up skin. If anyone ever finds one I would love to know about it. If you lost weight quickly, it is most likely that your skin wasn't able to rebound quick enough to keep up the with weight loss. It can take some time for your skin to get back into shape.…

Weight loss is mostly about your eating habits. But you can certainly lose weight with proper eating habits and yoga, no high intensity exercise. My boyfriend lost the first 40 lbs of his weight lose that way. There are lots of other benefits to yoga as well. The benefit I like most is the stress relief. My job can be…

I have a Polar RS100 and it can be used in the pool. I only tried it once and it kept getting twisted on me. I think I had the strap too loose. Was going to give it another try this weekend.

I had a very basic HRM like that for years before I finally upgraded to a fancier model. Like wombat94 said, as long as yours tells you average heart rate you can use online calculators to find your calories burned. There are tons of online calculators to use. What I did is create myself a spreadsheet that used the…

Under Armor Armor Bras are GREAT! Although they are on the more expensive side. I wear a 36DD and they support very well. I still bounce of course, I don't think anything will completely stop that, but it is a more controlled comfortable bounce. Not the crazy, hit you in the face bounce that other bras have left me with.…

From what I understand if you are just building up your endurance that rest days are needed to prevent injuries by over working your muscles. As your body gets stronger and adapts to your new athletic you, you will need rest days less often. For example, some runners run everyday rain or shine. They didn't start out doing…

I assume you are referring to some pesky fat under your arms. Sadly, no exercise will spot reduce fat. If you want to build muscle in that area, there are lots of different exercises for triceps. My favorite is tricep dips. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/exercises/single-bench-dip.html

If all you are doing is eating, sleeping and crying. That sounds like a huge sign of depression. Talk to a doctor.
