Same happened to me on my first run. I failed to realize I needed a lifestyle change instead of a diet. Good luck and I'm happy to cheer you on!!!

I have a similar story. Lost 27 lbs, stopped tracking and gained 19 back. I started over in May and have lost 38 lbs to date. For me, having friends on here, realizing I needed to make tracking and exercising a way of life was key too. Good luck!

No and what tha?????????????? HYE been in a movie?

It works. Tracking intake and output is huge. Imagine not tracking your finances at all - spending whatever you want and as much as you want. It would be a disaster, right? Same goes for here!

You gave a clue in your post....doing the same. For me, breaking a plateau has happened when I mix up my exercise. Interval training is a good example. Another thing that has helped me is dropping my carbs intake.

I'd say no to supplements so long as you eat healthy. MFP will suggest caloric intake based on your numbers so go with that. As you know, the deficit of intake versus burn is the bottom line. Sounds like you are making great decisions. Good luck!

The first step is the hardest and most important. You can do it!

Been there, done that! What has worked for me is not doing a diet per se. I've changed my perspective that this is a forever change I needed to take and not thinking food is a reward but rather a resource. Diets suck. They keep you from eating normally. Portion control, tracking intake and exercising is the simple plan to…

It's certainly realistic. I've lost nearly 37 pounds since May!
-
Wow, what a transformation! You've done it before and you'll do it again! I'd love to see you through it this time....feel free to add!!!
-
One day at a time, you can do it by resetting your daily routine to eat sensibly and finding time to exercise. Good luck!

I hear ya....this is my second time around and I had to realize the whole lifestyle thing and not enjoying food was a lost cause. This time, I've added exercise, MFP friends and a reasonable diet that I can live with. Feel free to add me....I post daily.

welcome to a new lifestyle!

When I reached my first plateau, I started a low carb goal and it has been successful. It's been hard for me since carbs are EVERYWHERE but I'm making progress. I try to keep mine below 100g.

Eating healthy is a challenge for sure....I've been working hard on finding fun alternatives and it's helped a ton! I'd be happy to be your friend and share!!

I'm using low carb to break another plateau. It's worked before and it will work again!
-
Keep the carbs below 100g and you'll lose weight since it is the primary fuel source and fat is secondary. Less carbs means quicker fat burn!
-
Oh yeah, you can easily hit that goal! It starts with determination and the support you can get here (if you look for it) can be a huge help. Good luck and feel free to add me.

Great attitude and I know where you're coming from! It starts here and now!!! This is my second time around but this time I've added friends on here and it makes a TON of difference! Good luck and feel free to add me.

I know what you mean. I clean my list from time to time for the same reason. I post daily, workout six days a week and have come a long way so far. Happy for the add if you like.

The net difference of caloric intake versus burn is the bottom line. On your days off, if you are largely sedentary, then you will need to eat less to make sure your net difference is under goal.

I've fallen in love with frozen grapes. I buy them fresh and freeze them. Healthy, a great sweet snack and nothing artificial! I also keep salted almonds at hand....hickory smoked to be exact! Light popcorn is a good snack as well. Lastly, when I want chocolate, I grab a York or Pearson's peppermint patty. The small ones…

Try cutting down your carbs. They are what your problem is. Your primary resource for energy is carbs first then fat. Lower your carbs to under 100g per day and your body will burn fat sooner with less carbs in the tank. When I realized this, I started losing weight faster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic_diet
