  • You must be extremely careful on Craig's List. I tried to sell a saddle and was contacted by an individual who wanted to purchase my saddle. He said he would send me a check for the full purchase price and would arrange for all pick up and shipping costs. Sounded great. However, this was a scam. What they do is send you a…
  • I grow my own organic produce ~ so, fresh from the garden spinach, toasted pine nuts, sheep feta, cherry tomatoes, with balsamic-olive oil dressing and seasonings.
  • Try allrecipes.com Great site.
  • I would laugh and accept the big bowl of cookies and cake and tell mom, "Hey thanks so much, but I've eating healthy these days. "But, I'll donate your cookies and cake to the local food share ~ I'm sure they will enjoy them." I doubt she'll keep baking such treats. Your mother must be insecure herself. Why else would she…
  • I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis which has resulted in serious hypothyroidism. There is no doubt that this affects your metabolism. I have found that I must keep active and refrain from carbs (no potatoes, no rice, no bread, no grains, etc.) in order to lose weight. Also, be sure to take your thyroid medication on an empty…
  • I would ditch this guy. Any man who wants his 'woman' heavy and unhealthy is possessive. He is the one that is unhealthy ~ mentally unhealthy. Stick to your success.
  • Good for you...you show everyone that a little commitment can reap great rewards. Keep it up. You look great and I'm sure you feel even greater. Just think how healthy you will be!

  • Okay, weird as it may seem, this is my very favorite pizza: Homemade pizza dough... Pesto base first, then shredded carrots (put on paper towels first and press out juice), then chopped fresh spinach, then low fat mozzarella shredded cheese, then shredded Parmesan cheese (good stuff), then crumbled dried basil.... Bake at…
  • I agree with the gentle leads ~ they are amazing! I trained my lab with one and now don't even have to use any restraint on her...she remains by my side.
  • I have rehab'ed many dogs (and, cats). I currently have two rescue dogs ~ a Yellow Lab and an Australian Shepard. The Lab worked best with one of the 'gentle' leads ~ fits like a horse halter. I'm not a fan of the pronged collars, or any collar for that manner when it comes to pulling. The gentle leads work best for this…
  • I travel with my Pur water filter...does a great job. Google "water filters" and do a little research. I swear by my Pur filter.
  • I used to suffer from severe, incapacitating migraines and ended up going to the Cleveland Clinic for evaluation. I was told to avoid the following foods: alcohol (wine, beer, etc.), chocolate, peanuts, MSG, citrus (especially grapefruit), carbonated beverages. I know there were some others, but can't recall. I was also…
  • My mother is German and I always kidded her that I inherited her "thunder thighs"...LOL. But, it's true. There is a lot to say about genetics.
  • Yes, always. It keeps you honest and it's educational. Good to see which foods have which calories and other nutrients.
  • Just so you know...when using your in your sentence, it is spelled you're...(you are)...
  • Working in my garden and growing my own food... Seeing my pets (cats and dogs) happy and playful... Hiking in the mountains of Montana with my dogs... Resting in the hammock by my creek in the shade of trees, reading a good book and/or napping... Taking a sauna... Curling up in front of the fire on a cold winter's night…

  • WOW ~ now that's impressive! How proud you must be of yourself. It's obvious you have committed to a healthy lifestyle - good for you!! Congratulations...!!!
  • I took ballet and toe dancing for 8 years and developed very muscular calf muscles. When I started training in dressage, I had to have custom made riding boots because the off the shelf were too tight around my calves. But, men would compliment me on my "sexy" legs...so wasn't so back...LOL
  • Why would you do that? You're only lying to yourself. What good does that do? Come on ~ be honest...the only one hurt by the lying is YOU.
  • First, yes, you should see an orthopaedic surgeon for an accurate diagnosis. Second, I had a bad, crunching knee and as I strengthened my quadriceps the crunching diminished. You could have what is called a floating body in the joint, which could be as loose meniscus piece. Only an MRI will give you a definitive diagnosis.
  • Sounds like a rotator cuff strain and/or injury to me. This can happen to anyone at any age. My suggestion is to apply ice...ICE...yes, ICE...and rest it for a week or two. Then, begin exercises ~ slowly. If you have persistent problems, please see an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation.
