  • Run naked - its alot easier....you get your HIIT in when the cops chase you ;) Seriously...running shorts to me made a huge difference. The shirt - I have a few wicking shirts both of which I got a Marshalls. (You can find Underarmor stuff there for more than 40% cheaper than normal stores. If I use an ipod - its a small…
  • Congrats!!!! Hit it today as well! Its like FINALLY! Great work.
  • The real funny thing is that "it's only six miles" turns into, it's only 10 miles which turns into it's only which 15 miles, which turns into it's only 20 miles which turns into, you did a 1/2 marathon, you can do a full! Its amazing that the more you train, those once seemingly unattainable distances come into focus. 2…
  • I love that when I get done w/ my 75 spin class the area around my bike looks like I hit a water-buffalo ;)
  • I just bought some Isopure Zero Carb Vanilla. Tastes great. Mix it w/ Vanilla or Chocolate soy mike, a teaspoon on Peanut Butter, 2 drops of vanilla extract and a handfull of Ice. Depending on how my carbs are for the day, I will either cut the milk in 1/2 (if Im high) or throw in a banana(if im low) Tastes great.
  • I have a feeling Ill be pacing a few friends during their first marathon in the morning. Hitting the gym in the afternoon, and "carb loading" that evening with a few of my finest laddies!
  • Actually just started 2 days ago. So can't really give u an update yet.

  • One other bit of advice. When that gun goes off, run the race that you have trained for. Your adrenaline will be pumpin, resist the urge to go out of the gate and kill it. Enjoy the atmospheric and have fun.
  • Where in your legs? The upper outside (between you knee and hips)? If so - that sounds like your IT band. If thats where it is, it may be a shoe issue. Are they new?
  • I've seen some of those Cool-Vest in some mags, and always wondered how they are. Are bulky at all? How heavy are they?
  • When I first started training this was an issue for me as well. Now I know I have regulate my temp or I will run into issues. Indoors - I drink a ton of COLD water, and that really helps. (I have several polar bottles that live in the freezer - also get the big ones, the small ones are just too small IMO) I also wear the…
  • I'm betting its dehydration.
  • Killer dinner! Thanks for the idea! Also whipped up some salsa verde to use in place of sour cream.

  • Prep done - marinating the chicken, start cooking in about an hr!
  • Winner w/ the Fajitas! Starting the prep....thanks for the idea! Tip for the seared scallops......HOT pan - light oil (or clear butter - no additives) put them on and LEAVE THEM ALONE. They will let u know when its time to flip them (by becoming loose) If they do stick - pour a little wine (the dryer the better) in the pan…
  • Should have thought this out more - looks like the only protein in the house right now is chicken.
  • Its a not a bad habit at all. You have to taste what you cook, how else will know if its good ;) Honestly, it all about what you are cooking. Especially sauces, a spoon here and there can add up to some calories pretty quickly. So just plan your workout accordingly. Throw an extra 20 mins in there to give you that 150…
  • x10000 Was next to a woman the other day, I actually had to move it was so freaking strong. Ladies, I dont care what other days...sweat is sexy!
  • Remember the name by Fort Minor. Totally gets me pumped to start my run.
  • There is a thread bout how to prep for your first race. Do a search and you should be able to find it. If not let me know.
  • I love it!!! This is so true - I'm guessing another Walking Dead fan! I used to hate running. And when I say hate - I mean could not stand it, would rather do anything else in the world - hate. Then my wife started running, and started training for a marathon, and she would drag my *kitten* out with her. And I slowly began…
  • I had 2 short term goals. 1. was to get my butt moving at least 5 days a week. Whether it be at the gym or at home, but do something. I'm happy to say I have met this goal. I will say that doing it for over 40 days now - it has become part of my routine. I find myself now scheduling things around my workouts vs scheduling…
  • This one had me crying. So my type of humor.
  • I think i love you!
  • Like you, Im a weekend drinker. Usually to the tune of 10-14 beers. That being said, If I know Ill be pounding them that night, I will bust my *kitten* harder at the gym that day and "pre-burn" the cals Ill be having later. I have also made a HUGE effort not the eat crap while Im out. Which is usually very hard to do, but…
  • My daughter started running with my wife and I last year (7 at the time) and did her first 5k that same year. She ended up winning her age group which was great! She signed up for a few races this year and is doing a triathlon relay team w her sisters in June.. We just let her go at her own pace and we adjust accordingly.
  • One thing to realize is that your time does not start when the gun goes off. You will have a chip on your sneaker or in your bib. Your time starts when u cross that start pad/line. So don't panic when u hear the gun. Just relax get in your groove and enjoy yourself. This is what you trained for. Go out and have fun.
  • Marinade in equal parts Jack Daniels and Soy sauce for an hour. Grill on Med heat until opaque is gone. Flip cook a few mins longer Perfect!
