Assuming you have normal bike shoes - there are holes in the bottom of them - use some duct tape and tape up the holes. It will make a world of difference.

Welcome to the group. The one thing that you need to do is have is the right mindset to succeed. If you want it bad enough, you can do it. Realize that its not a diet you are going on here - its a lifestyle change. Its an understanding that calories in > calories out = weight gain and calories in < calories out = weight…

You look way better w/out the beard ;) j/k - Great job - Congrats, you should be proud!

Congrats - I think either one is a good choice. Make sure you d.l the garmin training center software (the one that you have do everything on your PC - not the one where it pushes everything online) , It makes creating workouts so much better! If you mind me asking - what kind of coupon did you have? (something online??)

Wow - im in the same club - did my first IM in Oct at 180 - put almost 15 lbs on since then. The first 4 weeks after the race I did almost nothing - a few small runs that was it. Nov & Dec was pretty much the same - but my appetite did not change. Its one thing when you are doing 5-6 hr bike rides and 10 mile runs in a day…

Have had the 310xt for several years now w/ no complaints at all. I love the thing. Download the garmin software - and I can push my custom workout to my watch as well as pull down the data. The 910 is great - but for the extra $$ not worth in IMO. The main thing it does better is track your swimming distance a little more…

I have done a few Olympics and of them all - The Nations Tri in DC is by far one of the best races I have ever experienced. Just the fact that they close the parkway and you get to tear *kitten* down it on your bike is just killer. The run is thru the park and around the monuments - the scenery alone is great. Already…

Agree with above - sounds like you are pushing the swim way too hard. Unless its a sprint - use the first few hundred of the swim as a warm up - then get into your groove. 2-3 mins lost on the swim is nothing and you can easily make it up on the bike. The last 1/2mile on the bikes get into a high gear and spin out those…

You put a picture of a giant fat guy next to your alarm clock w/ a note that says if you don't get your *kitten* up - your *kitten* will look like this. That and I have the alarm on my phone say "get your *kitten* up and get moving" Works for me :)

In the bedroom usually me - but other parts of the house is all her.

The correct response.... I may be fat, but you're ugly and I can diet ;) Followed by a punch right to the face!

Congrats man! 6 weeks until my first IM race. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the great Race report.

Train like your faster evil twin is trying to kill you. - some random post I came across on facebook one day.

5 months to lose 30 lbs. 2 months to lose the last 6 :)

^^^^^^ Hope to see a Race Report on your HIM - good luck!

I use cooking spray to help me get it on over my sholders and arms. I did make the mistake of grabbing garlic flavor one time....made for a very interesting race ;) I do like the tip about the bags on the feet - gonna try that.

Lol - My very first triathlon - I finished dead last. I didnt know I finished last until the actual times came out, b/c of the way you start. Honestly I didnt care. I crossed that finish line and all that mattered. How many people enter the race - of that how many in your age group? Out of those people - is your goal to…

I love this quote, thanks for sharing!

That would be pretty cool. Current in week 4 of training for the Full-IM at the Beach to Battleship race in Wilmington. Did the 1/2 last year and loved it! Follow my blog if your interested in my training workouts. Going to start posting the specific workouts this week.

1/2 the fun is the Adventure. Grab a tent - get there the night before and camp out or just sleep in your car. There may be a board (facebook) that has other athletes doing the tri - or talking about it. I'd be willing to bet that someone would let you crash on their couch. Or better yet - http://www.couchsurfing.org/ If…

Same here. Did a 1/2 last year. Training for a full now. Good luck!
