Absolutely snacks. Trust me - if you let yourself get ravenous one of two things will happen: 1) You'll overeat WAY past the value of whatever snack you would have had; or 2) You won't keep up the diet because you'll be feeling deprived all the time. Goooo snacks! :D

A screwdriver is a good choice as long as they're not too heavy handed with the orange juice. And at least there's a little nutrition in there too. ;)

Lately? Every.week.

Well I've been losing my luster. Its been well over 30 days with no weight loss and not moving down a pants size either. Had my thyroid checked and its fine. (damn it!) So I haven't had a lot of motivation to keep going, kwim? I have been doing every other day on the Shred -- not sure how much longer I'll go or how…

Went back at it - D2:L3 - tonight. Wasn't as bad as I expected after 3 days off. (shame) But I did put a crick in my neck. Ouchie. And now.... I want a donut. really. That's all I want right now. :frown: Thank God we don't have any in the house.

Yeah I took this weekend off as well. :blushing: So now its time to hop back to it!!
-
FINALLY!!!!! PROGRESS!!! I measured today and for the first time in 35 days saw some results!!! I have lost a total of 5" this past week (thighs, hips, waist). GOD that feels good!!!!
-
Hi there! Welcome!!!! Sounds like you are well into your Shredding already! What level are you on?
-
First off, look at that hot mama in her new photo!! :drinker: Second off, I could not agree with you more. I decided to do Level 3 today just as motivation for working out at all (was dreading Level 2). While its hard, and I was covered in sweat (and had to do most of the modified moves), it was MUCH more fun than Level 2.…

Leesey - how is Level going???? I took yesterday off from everything - diet, food tracking, working out... all of it. But I'm "back on the wagon" today. :)

I did measure recently and nothing had changed. Nothing. I do have better endurance and am stronger during the workouts but my body just is not responding and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I think I will start alternating Shred with days of pure cardio, but I can see from my HRM that Shred does plenty to keep…

I think Livestrong.com also has a "my route" option!
-
Welcome!!! I think many of us either use "Circuit Training - General" for 22 mins or we use our HRM (heart rate monitor) and record cals burned manually. For everyone: In that vein - I finally got a HRM. The bummer is that while MFP estimated me at 206 cals burned, my HRM tells me it was only about 180. :grumble: Here is…
-
Major bummer - granted I only have a cheapy wrist-watch HRM that you have to continually "check in" with (which is almost impossible while doing the Shred) but I tried to check in after each section (so about 9 times) and it tells me 179 cals. :noway: Grrrrrrr
-
Well guess we'll find out tonight!!!! Doing D2:L2 of my shred. MFP shows it at 206 cals. I hope to God its not less or I may cry.
-
Well here's the weird thing... I was toast yesterday - jelly arms, sore legs, traps on fire blah blah blah. Honestly felt like I was gonna puke for a while after. But today I'm not sore. Anywhere. At all. :grumble: That leads me to believe it didn't do much. I think I'm gonna go this afternoon and buy a HRM. I need…

Starting level 2 in about two minutes. NOT looking forward to it! ETA: Just did D1:L2 ... back to yack land. The second set of lunges/rows in the first circut alone about killed me. I had to do the modified version of just about everything, and whoever created plank jacks deserves a special place in hell. So there.…

Dawn, No, please don't feel badly. First, you were not one of the ones that stung so badly. And second, even the ones that stung needed to be said I suppose. Its just hard for someone new to this to sort through it all (eat more, eat less, eat all your exercise cals, don't eat any, a cal is a cal, no its not....) :ohwell:…

What is Cardioke? And yes, i did measure myself when i started. I haven't re-measured but plan to this weekend. OH and WELCOME to our new folks!!! :flowerforyou:
-
I know! I'm so worried about all that plank in L2. I mean I was dying after just 5 regular pushups. Argh! All I can do is keep trying, right!? :D
-
Thanks Smiles! That is good to know. I promised myself I wouldn't measure until after completing L1 but I may need to just to see some encouragement. Well L1D7 down last night. I decided I would try the regular plank pushups (rather than the modified). Well THAT was a no go! I got through about 5 of them and had to…

Ok - I think probably I have what I need from this thread - but just wanted to answer a few of the last questions posed: 1) Yes, this is a vast improvement from how I used to eat. Believe it or not. And yes, I did used to eat an entire sleeve of Oreos in one night - sucks but its true. So I AM trying. 2) The Bust A Meal…

TOTALLY understand you. I also had never worked out and started with this (call us crazy right?). The first morning after Day 1 I could barely MOVE. Getting up and down out of a chair was a joke. Stairs were mission impossible. I so feel your pain (quite literally). But the important thing is that you didn't quit!! You…

Welcome!!! My new Milly is 4 months old next week! So I know JUST how you feel. Best of luck to you - feel free to friend me on here if you want to keep each other motivated!!! :flowerforyou:
-
No I am not. Yes they are homemade and yes, they are whole wheat, or Spinach (tortillas) and low cal with no cheese, etc I've eaten 500 cals in snacks ONE weekend - which I admitted was a mess. Apart from that I've rarely gone over 300 cals in snacks.
-
Don't get down! What you've done is AMAZING! For me, if I see someone I haven't seen in a while and I think they've lost - I usually don't say anything for a few reasons. 1) They may be sensitive about it - i.e. they're not at their "goal" and don't want to discuss it; 2) sometimes I feel like if I say "have you lost…
-
First, I want to thank everyone for taking the time to review my food diary and comment. I sincerely appreciate the comments. I have to admit I was a little shocked that everyone thinks I'm eating SO horribly. Perhaps that is my problem right there - I'm just not seeing it? But almost every morning all I have is brewed…
-
I've been debating moving up to Level 2. But I think I'll stay on Level 1 the full 10 days. I'm sure I can do a little more with the workout (I'm doing the modified pushups for instance). And, I do need to go up with the weights probably. The frustrating thing is its not that I don't feel it - I'm sore everyday - but still…
-
Glad to see so many new faces!!! Welcome Welcome!! :flowerforyou: For those of you just starting it DOES get easier. Right now my frustration is lack of weight results. My scale has not budged a bit. But from what I'm told that can be normal if you've never really worked out before - your muscles are clinging to water and…
-
Jmun - I think swearing at Jillian is part and parcel to the workout!!! You are so lucky you've lost! I have not lost ONE POUND. NOT ONE! Its really getting me down but I'm trying to just keep my eye on the end and not worry about 'right now'. I've been at or under my cals, just did day 6 of the L1 and no weight…
