I do kind of agree with you to an extent about it not being a disability. Until - that is - it becomes so overwhelming and out of control that it prevents you from living a normal active life. But I think the OP being a complete *kitten* about 'being a victim' because someone has depression and eats as a result of that is…

Time to join a different gym! What an idiotic thing to say! How can you possibly 'ban' deadlifts! I am in shock.....

I've just started reading a book called NLP for weight loss. Its good so far, maybe you could look at buying a book like that?

If you eat more protein than your body needs, you excrete it, so I wouldn't worry too much about protein. You actually don't need that much protein for general health but more protein isn't bad for you helps you to feel full. I try to keep processed sugar to a minimum. I have found they best way to eat is low gi, which is…

I have ibs and have just started seeing a nutritionist which is helping alot. Is there anyway you could manage to see a dietician or nutritionist?

I have recently been diagnosed and have found that mfp has really helped as I can log everything and keep a note of my symptoms. I kind of started an elimination diet by just eating plain foods that I knew wouldn't upset my stomach and then introduced new foods and drinks every few days and kept a log of what symptoms I…

Wow! That's amazing!

I'm just starting to wean myself off processed foods again now after eating clean and falling off the wagon. I'm determined to make the change a permanent one this time and so this post has really given me the push I needed to go for it. Good luck for your challenge, I have sent a friend request in the hope that maybe we…

If you're eating a lot of the same foods this could also be a reason why nothing is happening. Your body will get used to eating the same old same old. Its the same with exercise thats why you change your program after six weeks or so. Try eating a few different things and see if that helps. Plus start doing some form of…

You can also buy dvds that include some strength training for beginners such as Jillian Michaels or the like. This would be mostly body weight exercises and some with weights but its a good jumping off point, and it will also help you get the correct form.

I have heard of this and really want to do one but I'm a bit scared! I have a friend who is doing one at the end of this month I think so I'm looking forward to getting her take on it. I may sign up for one next year....

Love chai and green tea with lemon, but my fave has to be good old cup of builders tea!

Thank you for posting this. It made me cry, but helped me to put a few things straight in my own mind.

Me too! I'm right with you guys on this one. FR sent, and anyone can add me :)

Bokwa is an African dance type exercise class. It's very good apparently although I haven't tried it myself. I use mfp daily but this last week I have been pretty rubbish I have to admit! How are you finding it?

I live in the same area as you, what gym do you go to? I'm actually just qualified as a gym instructor and I'm going on to do my personal trainer qualification so I might be able to help a bit?

Unfortunately I think it's probably your low self esteem. I remember feeling the exact same way and sometimes I still get paranoid that people are staring at me. To be honest you are very pretty and look like you dress nicely so people are probably looking at you and thinking that you're attractive or that you have nice…

Body Revolution is great.

Thanks everyone for all your replies. They have been very helpful and motivational. I think after looking at the links I will start by looking at a couch to 5k and up my training from there. I will keep you posted!

If you're struggling with your appetite (you said you feel as if you're force feeding yourself) try adding some high calorie foods but ones that are packed with goodness like a small handful of nuts. This will help to get your calorie intake up, and they're really good for you.

Blah blah blah

Feel free to add me! I love to motivate and be motivated by other's positivity.

Just know that you're doing the right thing for yourself - mind and body and that you are being in control of your health by working out and eating sensibly. Dont worry about what everyone else is doing, you are right to put you first when it comes to this.

I used to go to Zumba at Diment MacDonald dance school which was great, I really enjoyed it and it introduced me to exercise. I would highly recommend it if you haven't tried it before.

I'm sorry to say I haven't read all of the replies to your post but I just wanted to quote something I heard once which helped me get passed not wanting to take anti depressants. If you have a terrible headache you take a painkiller to help you feel better, anti depressants are there for the same reason. There is no shame…
