Hey, I've been using a fitbit combined with an HRM for certain exercises for a bit now and am constantly running a deficit on my calories in vs calories burned and even though I was consistently doing the right thing I had a huge long plateau. I have changed up my routine a bit and finally after over two months am starting…

I want to enjoy getting older and try to stave off the diseases and frailties that effect older people, and more importantly i have four people that depend on me to be healthy and active.

Im a dude, but i really noticed it in my gunt, if you know what that is, my little friend looked bigger and i was like, heyyyyyy, there you are.

Depends if you are logging your workouts. I have a fitbit and because of it I have found I'm not as sedentary as I thought. Only you know if you just do your workout for the hour and then sit on your butt in front of the TV for the rest of the day. I just upped mine from sedentary to the next level due to my workouts and…

Im not sure, i exercise, eat 80% healthy, probably closer to 90%, saw big drops in the beginning but for the past three months feel like I've stalled. Im doing spin bike cardio and Insanity workout and am noticing some body change but not what one would expect from the massive changes I have made. I almost feel like I…

I log everything but spices. Even veggies can add up to a couple of hundred calories a day.

its really inconsequential to the average joe, your body has to work a little harder to heat up after drinking cold water but the difference is minute. Just drink what you like, you can live without drinking water if you drink other beverages but water is just the cleanest most simple fluid is all.

or anything else you feel like eating that isnt egg

oats

No, baddddd shortyrock. If you workout while sick, your body is already fighting off something, now you are stressing it more. You will just be dragging yourself out more. Find a book and a blanket, snuggle up and get better then back to the routine.
-
Just saying, you don't look like you need to lose any. Just be happy that you are toning.
-
Thanks, never even gave this a second thought when I was a kid, but you hear of people in there 40's and 50's dropping from working the pumper too hard. Just want to make sure I'm doing good not harm.

For me the only reason i use this site is to keep my calories and nutrients in check.

Unless you go from drinking zero caffeine to 20 cups in one day its fluid, your body doesn't know the difference. I incorporate my tea into my daily water.
-
No, you are doing just fine. Listen to your body, if you start feeling dragged out and listless then back off a bit until you wake up in the morning feeling energized again.

Uhummmm, I noticed how he is now your EX, coincidence, I think not....lol Seriously though, pushups will tighten your pecs, wont get rid of the fat but will change the shape so they are less boobie like. Then slim down.

I eat Broccoli and other fibrous veg to fill me, they are super low calorie but take time to digest and fill you up. Also, there is a product called Skinny B, its Chia, Hemp and Buckwheat, it expands and keep you feeling regular.

Fairs got nothing to do with it. Its choices we make, and I mean we, I know of few people who dont stall out or even gain over holidays, vacations, sick days, you name it, but the great thing is you did it once and now you can do it again.

Tom, one bit of correction, the Fitbit does take exertion into account, the faster you move the quicker it adds calories burned. the only thing it wont account for is weight training, or swimming because ya cant wear it swimming.
-
just dont get discouraged. Insanity is an intense workout, you may actually see weightgain if you have gone from a sedentary lifestyle, but keep pushing, real weightloss will happen.

Love my fitbit, use it religiously. I compared all the different options and these are the reasons I bought the fitbit over everything else. 1: The Size, its tiny. 2: It works seamlessly with MFP 3: The price. 4: The sleep tracking function. 5: I dont want to wear something on my wrist all day.
-
When your schedule and location screw with your normal diet and you stall out. Vacations are the worst, but what a fun way to screw up....lol
-
Bwahahahahahaha, me too, totally read a for at.

Not a thing to do with time, its desire, determination, and motivation, and choice. I really, really do not want to do my Insanity tonight, but i have the desire, the motivation and making the choice that this is more important to me than anything else I could possibly do.

And it goes on and on and on..........

I have scientifically engineered insulin out of my body solely in order to consume nummy nummy whey protein shakes. Now I drink 15 to 20 a day, zero spike baby.

I find that depending on the day I can burn up to an extra 2000 calories through exercise. My daily routine is 60-90 minutes on my spinbike at 90 RPM, and then Insanity workout in the PM. I just listen to my body, if I'm feeling worn down then I either drop one or both workouts for the day and pick up the following day.

Its a tool I use for my progress. Not something I need for advice or motivation from others. All of our diets are very different, culturally, geographically, tastes and needs. I dont need to compare my eating habits with others, I know what is healthy and not that Im putting in my body.

Im on day 19 and finding my stamina is increasing rapidly. Surprisingly my weight hasn't dropped an ounce, in fact I may have gained. what i have noticed though is my muscularity is becoming much more dense. My goal is to hit 200 but if my body has a set point higher and it just ends up being heavier with muscle I guess Im…
