I'm 5'2" and still have about 50-60 more pounds to lose. I am on a physician supervised high protein/low carb diet. It works. I don't usually work out because it just makes me ravenously hungry.

Protein helps your metabolism. Maybe you are eating more protein, which you should be if you are working out. I know after a workout, I crave protein.

Try ground buffalo. Tasty and low in fat. Pork chops are good and so are pork stews. Nothing like a good vindaloo.

I buy low carb yogurt. It only has 4 carbs. Fruits are full of sugar. Some are better than others. I eat only berries and melon and then only about 2 days per month. Try a Costco protein shake for breakfast. Only 4-5 grams of sugar (depending on flavor) and low in calories, too.

I've had several doctors that recommended that I eat 800 calories a day. I've lost a lot of weight by doing this. Nowadays, I eat mostly proteins and fats. Carbs have no value, and the carbs that I eat come from vegetables only. There is no starvation mode. If there was, there would be obese children starving in Africa.…

I don't call it cheating, I call it a splurge. Since this is a lifestyle change, not a diet, I am not rushing to lose weight. Slow and steady works best for me. I see my doctor every two weeks for a weigh-in and she looks at what I've eaten. If I feel like having a couple of slices of pizza for lunch, then I will. I do…

I haven't used citrulline on my low carb diet, but I do drink protein shakes. Protein is a metabolism booster and can help you lose weight, plus it makes you feel full. My shake contains 30g of protein and 4 total carbohydrates (1g sugar, 2g fiber). As long as your protein source doesn't contain significant amounts of…

Absolutely. I see a bariatric physician, who puts all of her patients on a low carb diet. Her variation is that you count all carbs, not net carbs, but don't count any that are in the allowed vegetables (pretty much everything except butternut squash). I'm allowed to eat 20-30 carbs a day, and I bring in MFP diary with…

It isn't just calories. Watch your sugar intake and this includes starches like bread, rice, and potatoes which become sugar when digested. If you do not use up the sugar, it will get stored as glycogen. However, if you do not have a lot of muscle, you can't store as much glycogen so it gets stored as fat - your bodies…

I started at 258 back in October. I'm losing about 10 pounds a month, slowly and surely. I see a weight loss doctor and get weighed in every 2-3 weeks. Feel free to add me.

Milk is bad. My doctor says that it is used to 'fatten up the calf' and I don't need to be fattened up! Lol.

All sugar is bad, whether it comes from corn, beets, sugar canes, etc. So much is added to food. I try not to eat processed foods and stay away from fruit.

Tonight I made ground beef kofte kabobs, with a little yogurt dressing. Side of green beans sautéed with roasted garlic, sundries tomatoes, and 2 types of olives.

Bacon Jerky! 130 calories, 1 carb per 1 oz. it is awesome.

They all have sugar, unless you just order plain coffee or tea. I like the vanilla roobios tea. They brew it, then I add my sweetener and a little half & half. Really good. Sugar is a no-no on my diet. They do have some sugar free syrups, if you like to add flavor.

The only Atkins products I eat are the frozen dinners. They are pretty good. The Atkins bars stall me. With me, sugar alcohols act the same as sugar. My doctor does not allow me to count 'net carbs' because of this. I stall with any alcohol, actually. I'm glad you can enjoy the bars!

Actually, they do. As someone else pointed out, it will lower cholesterol and triglycerides. It helps with diabetes and stabilizes insulin production. Scientific, published, clinical trials have shown superiority of low carb diets. You should take a biochemistry class and learn something.

Not sure how many of you have medical degrees, or read scientific journals. If you do have access through work or school, you can research diet comparisons. Every study shows low carbohydrate diets have the most weight loss and the most sustained weight loss. My bariatric physician puts all her patients on low carb diets.…

I'm on a low carb diet. Add me and you can check out my diary. Last night, I made stuffed chicken. Another favorite is chicken pizza. I make breast cutlets, coat in Parmesan. Bake in my own sauce made with no added sugar. Take out after 15 minutes and top with mozzarella, pepperoni and italian sausage. Bake another 5…

I get out of breath hiking up mountains. I love hiking in the Cascades and I need to lose weight. Second reason - I'm too fat to fit in a motorcycle track suit. Last year, I wore pants but I had to rip out the seams on the inside for my thighs to fit. Even then, they were so tight that I needed help getting on my bike. I'd…

In order to get a cheeseburger, small fries, and a drink, you need to order a Happy Meal. I remember when that was the only size of burgers and fries at McDonalds. Here in Seattle, all fast food restaurants must post calories next to the menu item. If you want to eat 1,500 calories in one meal, then it is your choice. Even…

I do not follow the sites numbers. I am morbidly obese and follow my weight loss doctor's recommendations. I use this site to track my food, as I need to bring my food diary to each appointment. I went to another site to calculate my calorie needs. Based on my age, height, and plugging in my ideal weight, then telling it…

I weigh myself daily, just to get a general idea of where I am at. My official weigh in is every 2 weeks at my doctor's office. I wear clothes and shoes. I try to wear the same thing each visit - jeans, t-shirt, sneakers. My weigh in is in about an hour.

What is LWL method. I am on a high protein / low carb diet prescribed by my bariatric physician. She recommended My Fitness Pal as a way to track my food. I print out what I've eaten for the last 2 weeks before each appointment. If I haven't lost any weight, she can look over what I've eaten and look for a suspect.…

I know sometimes I will eat cookies or cake without exageration and I live with this very well sinceI know I'm doing it on purpose, but since fat (internal and external) is created by metabolized sugars (am I right thinking that?) I am considering cutting on the fruits...I'd rather not cause I know there's plenty of…

Sugar is sugar, whether it is from fruit or a candy bar. Fructose, glucose, sucrose. Makes no difference to your body when it metabolizes it. When your body metabolizes sugar or any other carbohydrate, it produces insulin. This hormone is needed to metabolize the sugar but it also causes you to be hungry again. The easiest…

I drink the Premier Protein shake from Costco. It tastes good, has 30g protein and only 1g sugar. 160 calories. Great for lo carb diets.

If I want something salty, I suck on sunflower seeds. I give the seed to my dog. Other than that, I like water with flavor drops to dip on.

I used to go to Curves. It never helped with weight loss. I couldn't break a sweat. Joined a gym and used a personal trainer. That did wonders. I had to quit when I lost my job, but I will go back when I can afford it.
