What I Am Doing Right
Back in 2012, I weighed 228 pounds. I'm only 5'2". In September of this year, my weight went up to 258 pounds. This was my personal high weight. I am 57 years old, post menopausal, so my metabolic rate has slowed. I am a pharmacist and understand nutrition and biochemistry, but I continued to lie to myself about why I am…

Size 18!
I went to Dillards to shop for a new outfit and was suprised that I fit into a size 18. I was wearing a 24 when I started. At work, I wear scrubs with a drawstring waist, so I didn't notice the size difference. When I'm off, I wear baggy gym shorts around home. Sooo, I got home from Dillards, went to my closet and pulled…

On a Plateau? Don't Give Up!
for over a month, my weight would hover around 215. A couple of pounds lost would be gained back the next week. During the week of gain, I would eat around 1,400 to 1,500 calories per day. On my week of lost weight, I would eat around 1,100 calories per day. Something finally changed. Last week, I only gained 0.5 pounds.…

My Weekly Gain - Curves Anyone?
My life is working for 7 days overnights, then I have 7 days off when I flip my days and nights back. Each 7 days off, I always gain weight. I have chronic pain, so when I spend an hour on my bicycle, my back is in spasms for another couple of days. I also drink wine every evening, which helps with the spasms. The wine…

Weigh In - Naked or Clothes
i was wondering if most people here weigh themselves naked. When we go to the doctor or gym, we are clothed. I used to think my home scale was off by five pounds until I remembered that I would weigh while naked when I first got up and my doctor weigh in was late in the afternoon fully clothed. Currently, I weigh myself in…

Went Clothes Shopping and.....
I fit into a size 18! When I started MFP in the middle of July, I was wearing a 24. I'm not quite down to an 18 in slacks because of my huge thighs, but I am fine with a skirt. It's a small victory, but enough to keep me motivated. Shopping for clothes is my primary motivation for losing weight.

Don't Fit the Mold
I know many people here use the goal set by MFP. I always thought it was way too high. It may work for some, but I don't fit the mold. I did a month long experiment. During my 7 day work week I sleep all day for 8 hours, commute 3 hours, and work a 9.5 hour shift. The remainder is spent bathing, on the computer or eating.…

Weighing In Question
I saw that a lot of people weigh in on Wednesday, so I decided to join the pack. Since tomorrow morning is weigh-in day, I need to know what everyone does with digital weight. My scale weighs in increments of .2 and goes up the scale to .8 Do you round up for .6 and .8 and round down for .2 and .4? Or is .4 close enough to…

Numbers
I think I get too wrapped up in numbers. Today I go to my doctor and will get weighed. Then I'll go home and see how many pounds my scale is off. My weight may go up or down, but I have to ignore that. What's important is that I feel so much better and my clothes fit a lot better, too. I'm able to get into some clothes…

Wacky Schedule
I was intrigued by the "when to record foods eaten post". My schedule flops every other week. I started my work week last Thursday. I get up at 5pm and eat my "lunch" at 7:30pm. I start work at 9:45pm and eat my "dinner" around 2am. I get off work at 7:15am and eat my "breakfast" for the next day when I get home around…

13 Pounds in First Week!
Hi, my name is Dana. I started using the iPhone app and reduced my daily caloric intake by 1,000 calories per day. So, far I've lose 13 pounds. I started at 242 pounds and would like to get down to 150, even though I should be more like 105. Two years ago, I lost 70 pounds eating 800 calories per day following the ADA diet…
