  • I like multi grain cheerios, mini wheats and honey bunches of oats, not wild about the surgery sweet stuff (yeah, i'm boring) but I can't remember the last time i bought a box of cereal, at 4 dollars for a small box, it is cheaper to eat eggs and oatmeal for breakfast.
  • I think I would like to live in the 1800's, like when Little House on the Prarie or Anne of Green Gables... things were so much simplier then. Not crazy for the huge dresses, but I like the time.
  • I work in a call centre which is in a mall, when i came through the mall this morning they had chairs and a large television set up in the atrirum. Also, someone on night shift must have been watching it on their break, as it is on in the TV room (beside me) i can hear all the music through the door, but that is it. I am…
  • ...that i could chop squares of frozen snow and sell them to the neighborhood Mom's to keep in the freezer and give to their kids in the summer. (an entrepreneurial venture a friend and i had). (my older sister) thought 'Omit Oil' meant a special kind of oil to put into the low-fat version of the cake mix. (my younger…
  • Ireland New York Seattle. All cities i have never been to and would like to be. But right now at this exact moment? Sleeping. I had an insomnia night, so i am super tired.
  • I hit 280 yesterday, it's a lot and i can't believe it has been that long! It seems like i have been using this site forever, but it averages out to about only 9 months.
  • fresh coffee (even though i do not drink it)
  • This is my third. It was a cover up of a small barcode. My second is a spiderweb on my foot, it is not finished so i have no pictures of it. Hopefully this summer it will be finished.
  • I don't like spinich if it is cooked. Raw in a salad it is fine. Olives, double yuck. The smell, the taste, even how they look. Mushrooms i can live without, but i will eat them if they are there rather than pick them out. As for veggies i thought i would hate but liked when i tried? Aparagus, zuchinni and eggplant (i…
  • oatmeal, yogurt and either frozen yogurt or ice cream. eggs, turkey bacon. granola bars and green tea (when i work early shifts)
  • I made Chicken Potpie Empanadas . http://mmmhomecooking.blogspot.com/2011/03/chicken-potpie-empanadas.html
  • Fresh veggies are expensive enough around here, never mind the organic stuff. I have a hard time getting any fresh veggies at all, just because of the cost. About the only thing i can afford are potatoes and carrots, which are better than nothing, i suppose. I usually try to buy frozen veggies, though, since i am on my on…
  • I made these for a shower last weekend, they were a hit!! I omitted the walnuts and drizzled with dark chocolate. Banana Oat Squares 6 Tbsp butter or hard margarine, softened. 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed. 1 large egg. 3/4 cup mashed banana (about 1 + 1/2 medium) 1/4 tsp salt. 2 cups quick cooking rolled oats. 1/3 cup…
  • Thanks for sharing, and i see the point of the video and do find it disgusting that the companies do this, but unfortunately a lot of people have no choice but to pick the artificial ones. The real berry products pointed out in the video cost two to three times as much. I would love to be able to have them, but i certainly…
  • Healthy Banana Cookies Makes about 30, about 48 calories each. 3 ripe bananas 2 cups rolled oats 1 cup raisins 1/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp nutmeg In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in oats, dates, oil and vanilla. Mix well and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drop by teaspoonful onto an…
  • I work in a call center. That is about all there is in Saint John besides food service. A few years ago, i worked for a call center troubleshooting Road Runner internet. That call center closed when they moved the contract elsewhere. After that, i worked for Xerox for over 2 years. I took orders for toner and other printer…
  • i had a lean cuisine because i am at work and between running to the tattoo shop and the book store for textbooks, on opposite sides of the city, i had no time to cook something this morning. Tomorrow.
  • ice cream. Mmmm. I try to work some in at least every day or two. But now i am almost out (I stock up in the Fall when it goes on sale), so i may have to forgo until the price goes down.
  • I know it is not a good excuse, but honestly i don't eat more fruit and veggies because it is just to expensive. Around here, almost everything is shipped in. The only local fruits we have are berries in the summer, and apples in the fall. Veggies are abundant in the fall, since i live in a place with lots of farming, but…
  • Kids born this year will never know the feeling of freedom and safety we knew. When i was 8, i was allowed to go so far away, my father had to whistle or use a air horn to get us in for dinner. We had 10 minutes from the time the call was sent out to get home; which means we could go ten minutes from home on our bikes (a…
  • if you are full, go with it, you don't want to stuff yourself if you are not hungry, it might make you feel yuck. It is OK to be under one day. Just so long as you do not make a habit of being that much under, it is not healthy. It is just one day; think of it as making up for the days you may have gone over. :-)
  • i just eyeball it, like a dish i made yesterday, and say ok, that will probably be 3 servings. I know how much i eat, so i eyeball it, or take the spoon (in yesterday's case) and divide it into what i would think was a serving. I made a rice dish yesterday, i divided it into 4 and it did not look like enough, so i 'erased'…
  • Awesome; thanks for the ideas! I will start looking for something!
  • I love turkey bacon better than regular bacon, and here it is cheaper, to!!! I have been eating it almost daily solely for a source of protean, since i do not eat a lot of meat.
  • when i work evenings, i tend to get the munchies to. I know i get the munchies, so i plan one of my snacks around that. Instead of taking a granola bar, which i do when i work mornings, i take something crispy. I usually have a mini bag of popcorn or i take a small cup of goldfish crackers or something similar with me.
  • We were invited to a house party at the begining of the week, but no one has released anymore deatails besides that there will be one....somewhere...so right now that is a no go, i guess :-) There is a huge outdoor concert Uptown tonight, so i am hoping the temperature does not drop to much and we might take in that. Also…
  • I had to open a can of pumpkin for some cookies and ended up only using half a cup as well, so I just threw it into a yogurt container and into the freezer....but seeing all these recipes, i might just dig it out again!!
  • Ice cream. I usually go without, though because it is very expensive! When it goes on sale in the Fall i stock my freezer up, so now i have about 1/2 cup every other day! Mmmm.
  • I used to eat the really greasy ones, like chicken pizzola, club or meatball. Now i only get the veggie on whole wheat, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber and pickles, and a very bit of Italian (house) dressing. It is only 248 calories, and less than 4 dollars, so i usually get it once a week. I never thought i…
