3500 calories = 1lb therefore if you have a calorie deficit over the week of 3500 you'll lose 1lb and if you have an excess of 3500 well.....................!!!!!!!! p.s. in theory!!

if you're nearly in tears after 2 weeks then i'm worried for you! this is going to happen time and time again, and more often the more times you weigh yourself. Take photos and measurements and weigh every 2 weeks at the most - a firend of mine can gain and lose 4 lb in one day! give it time..........do calories in <…

Pretty much the same here. I'm always over my sugar - not by much but it's still quite depressing when the number goes red! I got rid of the sugars column from my food tracker! The guideline daily amount for an adult is about 90 so I think the MFP one is really restrictive. As long as you don't blow it, a couple over is…

Good shout! I stand corrected

Not sure if this helps.......................................(and it might not be true!!!! but thought it was interesting) Water or Coke? COKE #1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. #2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of…

I say remove the sugar column from your food diary! If you're anything like me the sugar limit was 24 - that was almost impossible for me. Bear in mind the recommended daily amount of sugar for an adult is 90 (I think!) so the difference is huge - a couple over is not going to hurt too much! Have your honey and enjoy

Hi I did Diet Chef for 3 months last year (that's where I heard about MFP). I think it's the best thing going and wish I could have afforded to carry it on. But if like me you finish after your introductory offer, you'll have a much beter appreciation of portion size - including how MUCH you can actually eat! This should…

Never weigh in on a Friday! I always do Saturday morning, then if you do fall over on the weekend, you've got a whole week to get it back!!

it IS simple - do more, eat less (same as calories in<calories out) :flowerforyou:

sorry to hear about your op. hope you're recovering :flowerforyou: personally, i'm not convinced about this spike day thing - i think your body gets used to too few calories - because that's what you're having the majority of days - then grabs everything you give it on your spike! just a thought
-
bumping :flowerforyou: just done this and want to see what happens to everyone else as well! Have done it for 1 week (BMR x activity level - 500 cal = 1485 calories per day) don't add in exercise calories unless you do more than your activity level - lost 3 lbs (although might be a bit TOM  )

Hi I have the same problem so thought I'd take a look at your diary - I can't see that you're even recording sugars, so how do you know you're over?!? What I did see is that you're way below your 1200 calories most days, that's really not good and will have far more effect on slowing your weight loss than a few extra grams…

Hi I'm 5'2'' and have been getting all worked up about this 1200 calorie thing. Read this (if you can bear to - it's a huge thread but the interesting & important stuff is at the beginning) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/456067-1200-calories-a-day-pleatues-mfp-is-wrong I've just upped my calories to just under…

I did the special k diet this time last year. Great results to start but did feel quite hungry for a while until I got used to it. Plateaued after a while so moved to 1200 calorie a day counting with much more success. Good luck if you decide to try it!
