Yay! It's not the coffee that is bad, unless you are sensitive to caffeine and/or don't drink enough water. It's all the cream and sugar people put in it. Coffee, like tea, is full of antioxidants.

Agreed! Except the milk part. But I can eat pizza but if I eat too much or eat it the next day -- I'll definitely regret it.

I have crohn's and it all varies from day to day. Good foods: I can tolerate most vegetables, any grain that isn't white, fruits, poultry, fish, raw sugar (not white), potatoes, etc. Bad foods: I can no longer drink milk and have to limit the amount of cheese. I don't really eat beef anymore or pork (with the exception of…

I like eating half to whole avocados with a bit of sea/kosher salt. Small salads. Asparagus. Frozen steamable veggies. Sweet potato fries. Cherry tomatoes.

bump!

Protein shakes. Oatmeal. Eggs. Fruit. Sandwiches. Coffee. Salad (I eat a salad sometimes). Toast. Raisins. Chicken. You don't have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast. Whoever says that you have to do so is wrong. So eat anything you consider healthy =).

I try to vary what I eat for every meal... sometimes, not the case. Now, if only I can stop drinking beer, I could be in better shape ;) .... but my diary is open if you want to get some ideas.

I don't understand your post. Your body uses about 1200 calories for minimal functioning (give or take). If you use more energy through exercise, you have to consume more calories... otherwise, your body would start breaking down muscle, organs, etc... just to stay alive.
-
Agreed! You don't need to lose anymore weight.. the exact opposite. By your measurements, you would be doing even more harm to your body -- could be even fatal if not careful.

bump! I love pumpkin recipes.

Yes! My all time favorite song to run to though is Sick Sick Sick by Queens of the Stone Age.

I think it's more nerdy than embarrassing BUT: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog soundtrack.

I can't quit Chick-Fil-A -- not that I can't... I just won't. I think everything is fine in moderation =) well... not everything. If you put a triple cheese burger in front of me... I wouldn't eat it. (personal preference though).

I could never give up bread... BUT I made a switch to Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Bread -- very filling and not processed like all other breads. It took me awhile to get used to it but now I love it. Now, if only I can step away from the convenience of Subway...

Ha, yeah. Sometimes looks do matter, depending on the situation - primarily socks. Regardless of the colors, they actually are great socks =) worth considering!

Lima beans or raw cauliflower. oh, and mayonaise. Oh how I hate mayonaise.

I've fallen in love with these: http://www.amazon.com/injinji-Performance-Micro-Toesocks-Medium/dp/B000MGFVQ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314797884&sr=8-1 Great way to prevent blisters.

Mine is open -- I really have nothing to hide but I can see how some people might feel embarrassed about what they eat and/or do not want to be judged. Privacy is different from person to person.

Change up your exercises. Cross train. Sometimes your body gets bored. Sometimes sleep, stress, food allergies, too much/too little exercise can play a significant role. The main thing is: don't give up! Regardless of losing weight, your heart and body thank you =)

Riding a bicycle in 105 degree heat for 30 minutes... not doing that again..

Cut it in half. Remove pit. Sprinkle with kosher or sea salt. Scrape out green flesh with spoon. Bring spoon to mouth. Chew. Swallow. Delicious! My favorite way =)

Being that it has been 100+ degrees in Texas for the last couple of months, I try to drink a gallon (128 ounces) a day . Normally, a minimum of 2 liters a day is sufficient enough for me --- depending on activity levels.
-
Hello from Texas as well -- and welcome!

Eat a sensible but not heavy dinner. Drink water. Get plenty of sleep. Wake up early, drink water. Eat something light like toast with peanut butter or a banana (30 min before run). Do a quick warm up before the run -- don't stretch until after the run (do not rush the stretch either).
-
Agreed!

Harder to pedal = more calories and a great way to build muscle.. .just don't make it too hard; you don't want to pull a muscle or hurt yourself.
-
If you pulled something like a muscle, the best bet is to stay off of it for a few days. I could be the stretching -- I've heard you shouldn't stretch before a run but afterwards-- and don't race through it. If it continues to hurt after a couple of days -- go to the doctor.

I drink beer -- sometimes a lot; which I'm trying to curb. Personally, I log everything I consume. Even tea and black coffee. I love a cold beer after a long bout of cardio. As far as energy drinks, I've stopped drinking them all together.

If you're a guy, you should be eating more than 66 grams of protein. MFP's calculation is slightly lower than it should be. I try to aim for 90-120grams a day. Whey protein is great. Lentils. Whole grains. Cheese. Soy.

I'm lactose intolerant, partially allergic to eggs (but I still eat them), and cashews. Growing up, I was allergic to wheat and barley. From time to time, gluten gives me issues but I don't have celiac. Thankfully, I can still eat cheese and yogurt.
