  • Depends where you live but at specific running stores. In Dallas, I go to Run On! or Luke's Locker if Run On! doesn't have what I need.
  • Get new supportive shoes. Stretch.
  • This! Definitely my weakness as well.
  • Blue Diamond - Almonds - Roasted Salted
  • Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I plan to start off doing the interval run/walk combo until I get my endurance back up -- but I will definitely look into some programs and run a half marathon first.
  • I normally add a spoonful or two of creamy peanut butter and a small box of raisins. Talk about filling. Tastes great and I'm full for hours.

  • Could be a number of reasons: -Stress -Diet -Not eating enough calories to make up for the running. -Eating too many calories -Poor sleep -Not drinking enough water. I can't give you a definite answer but keep at it! Don't get discouraged -- if you already look great then don't worry about losing weight... focus on…
  • Moderation.... fish, such as canned tuna and wild caught salmon, are safe to eat twice a week. I know a lot of people who eat fish regularly, including myself -- I have yet to see myself or one of them suffer from mercury poisoning. People overreact to everything they read and try to influence others with the same biased…
  • I normally drink coconut water or just water after cardio. Then after an hour, I'll eat something.
  • Apple and peanut butter. Fiber one bars are full of artificial ingredients and preservatives.

  • I've been soda free for awhile -- but I'll give up coffee for awhile =)
  • Whether it is a carbonated beverage or sweetened iced tea, sugar is sugar. Sweetened tea, imitation juices, and dessert drinks can have just as much sugar as a coke. It just depends how much sugar is in them. So to answer your question: yes and no. Tea is generally better for you than soft drinks but not when you add a lot…
  • Breakfast: ~400-500 calories Snack: ~100 calories Lunch: ~500-600 calories Snack: ~200 calories Dinner: ~500-600 calories Snack: ~100-200 calories (depending) I normally aim for 1900-2000 calories a day. I eat about 400-500 more depending on amount of exercise.
  • I love peanuts. I love almonds. I love peanut butter. I do not love almond butter. But that's my personal preference. Calories and fat-wise, they are about the same. Almond butter is probably a healthier alternative but peanut butter isn't unhealthy either. There's just something about the taste of almond butter that…
  • Soy is fine in moderation. Keep in mind -- you have to drink and eat A LOT of soy for any issues of phytoestrogen overload to occur.
  • That doesn't sound healthy at all. Whey protein works just as well. Yes -- watch out for kidney stones if you don't drink a crap-ton amount of water to flush out all that calcium.
  • why does every post end up with an argument... no one was preaching here -- whether it was credible or not. More so, I would like to believe people had enough common sense to determine whether what they read on the internet is true or false. Medical research can be flawed -- whether it is credible or not. If you want to…
  • I do the same! I find it easier to stay away from junk food for this reason.
  • It's not necessarily the milk that's important; it's the calcium you gain from it. Milk is also a great source of natural sugar, vitamins, and protein. I, unfortunately, have become lactose intolerant over the years and found solace in substitutes. To me, I wasn't a big fan of hemp or almond milk. Soy is okay -- just as…
  • The first step is you. The second step is portion control. Just because it's a holiday doesn't mean you have to over-eat or over-drink. Temptations can be hard but you need to overcome them. Otherwise, you're setting yourself for failure. Undereating a couple of days prior will only leave you hungrier than before. Try…
  • exactly =)
  • What about candy bars and cheeseburgers?
  • I wish bacon was a negative calorie....
  • If you can physically eat something, it has calories (unless it was something like artificial sweetners). A calorie is a calorie -- whether you burn it off or not. They all add up in a day. There is no such thing as a negative calorie.
  • Ha, sorry this made me laugh.
  • Baked potato - topped with grilled chicken, salsa, cheese, jalapenos, and light sour cream. Awesomeness.
  • Another reason why I'm glad to be a pescatarian.
  • Wii Fit Plus, Zumba, even just the sports package that comes with it. And from what I hear, yes they work as long as you stick with it. The great thing about the Wii Fit, if you have it, is that it not only weighs you but can tell if your balance is off.

  • Agree with most replies. Negative calories don't exist. Say your body burns 1200 calories alone without exercise -- technically you could eat 1200 calories worth of hamburgers and burn it all off. But you won't because all the saturated fat, sodium, and sugars will cause high blood pressure and other things.
