Ha, true =). I guess moderation is always the key.

I'm not trying to argue but there is plenty of medical documentation written by MDs and RDs: such as: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-protein-diets/AN00847 I've never heard: high amounts of protein is good for you kidneys. Your kidneys filter toxins and wastes. When your body is in excess of a nutrient, whether it be…

Great article! One thing I don't agree with is the protein comment though. Too much protein is very bad for your kidneys.

I recently became a pescatarian for health reasons -- but I do miss red meat/chicken on occasion. I normally only eat fish for dinner. Diary's public too.
-
Being a pescatarian, that's always good news. However, mercury poisoning is different from simply going into cardiac arrest. I always stick with canned light tuna due to the low mercury levels. Salmon has very, very low levels of mercury and is safe to eat everyday -- unless it is farmed, which is bad for different reasons.

Can we all just agree that Sweet N' Low is disgusting? ;)

Yeah Aspartame is pretty nasty stuff but again -- everything in moderation. Splenda, however, is a lot safer than aspartame and a godsend for diabetics. Ha, if you think about it, everything is bad for you in some sense or another... whether it be food allergies, too much of something, or chemical bliss.

Agreed! 4 grams of protein per slice as well. I like the texture of the bread. Even the regular sprouted variety only has under 100mg of sodium per slice.

Go to google images and type: Leaf Lettuce. Was it that? Leaf lettuce has the exact characteristics as you describe.

For a guy, I seriously doubt you'll gain weight from 2000 calories. You should be eating that anyways. If you are trying to lose weight, aim for 1700-2000 calories with exercise. AND eat your exercise calories. I eat about 1800 calories now (without exercise) and still think it's not enough.

amen!

I thought the easiest way to lose weight was to eat healthy, exercise, drink water, and sleep 7-8 hours. I wonder if I could market that or write a book...

Could be an allergy developing.

Beer is my weakness. Cheese is my other obstacle - I could eat a whole block in one sitting but know better not to do so.

There's a lot of a great veggie burger recipes on allrecipes.com.

Anything clear. Liquors have fewer calories than beer but you have to watch out for the mixers.
-
Not really -- just the taste is different.
-
I keep mine open just as a suggestion to others and vice versa ... but then again, I always feel someone is going to look at it and proclaim "you shouldn't eat that" or "you shouldn't drink beer" or blah x3... I think it goes both ways. Also agree on the dictating the life statement as well =)

I don't think I've ever heard someone say, "Bananas are bad for you." They do contain a high level of sugar but it's a natural sugar -- an apple can have more sugar than a banana. Just don't go overboard with fruit.

After a workout, I normally drink water and a protein shake. I eat a typical meal about an hour after the shake.

I personally like Earth Balance -- no hydrogenated oils, vegan, and made from certified non-GMO ingredients.

I'm not big on sweets but I have to agree with Green & Blacks organic dark chocolate .. great stuff.

Beer.
-
That's actually the better option. Thanks!

Find another healthy obsession. Listen to music, workout, read a book, distract yourself, meditate... etc..

If you are already cutting back on calories, eat your earned exercise calories.

thanks for the info!
