I have a flex - got it in the mail the day they decided to reveal the force. But I went ahead and kept it for one reason - Force only states that it's sweat proof. Flex is waterproof.

uh, what? "bars and bells" help you build a very strong core. So, I respectfully disagree as well.

Started with NROL4W in April and made it to middle of stage 3 before I took a break to finish training for and run a half, started Nia Shanks Train to be Awesome 3 weeks ago (decided I didn't want to go back to NROL). Oh, and I net AT LEAST 1950 calories a day. The before and the current butt shot!

Yes - don't be surprised to pay $100+ for the shoes. But believe me, it'll be worth it.

I just did a quick search, based on your profile you're near Baltimore. I recommend Fleet Feet. Big box sporting good stores and Footlockers are not going to do a gait analysis. You need to go someplace that specializes in running. I have a friend that works at a Fleet Feet in MI. I also see that there's a Charm City Run -…

I have compression socks and only ever wear them after a run. I know a lot of people run in them, but I never have. Anyway - they help a lot - keep the swelling down, help rejuvenate your muscles after a long run. I also find soaking in a hot bath with Epsom salts is a miracle worker. I had a 9 mile run a few weeks ago and…

Try doing 2000-2300 per day for a week or two. Give your body and water weight time to adjust. If after two weeks you're still gaining (highly doubtful), then you can reevaluate.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but weight will come back on if you eat more than your TDEE on a regular basis, not if you just don't do cardio every day. Stay at maintenance and not doing cardio does not mean you should gain weight, you should MAINTAIN. As far as the 3# lighter - you shocked your body by eating something…

Actually, quite the opposite - (a) I'm speaking from experience - CLEARLY since you quoted my profile you could have come to that conclusion yourself. I have been there done that with the quick weight loss and gained it back. My profile also says "And keep the changes" so clearly I know I need to do it differently (b) WTH…

You just proved his point right here - you did not fully incorporate everything into your lifestyle. You thought you could continue eating and not being active outside of work and maintain your weight. If you had truly adopted a new lifestyle, the job change should not have affected anything. You realize you are not…

I ONLY wear my running shoes for running - so if I were going to classes or work or whatever, I'd have on other shoes and keep my running shoes in my gym bag until I'm ready to run As long as YOU are comfortable doing it then YES! It took me a while to get used to going to the store in workout clothes (because I wear…

I'd hope all of her "Naughty bits' would be covered at the gym, too. What kind of gym clothes are YOU wearing??

I hope you're being sarcastic here... And for the OP - yes, I started lifting earlier this summer and I gained at first. In fact, I haven't lost any weight yet, but I did take measurements and have lost inches. At the same time, I've gained inches in other places - my pants fit more loosely round my waist but tighter…

Have you tried Power Bar gels? They are a much thinner consistency than GU and are what I use. A trick for the bike that I always use...if you do find a gel you like - um, easier to tell you to google "taping energy gels to a bike" than to try and put it in words. ;)

Then I would go to a different store to be fitted. We can all tell you what shoes work for each of us, but it's not going to help you find one that works for you. Try on several pairs that the store recommends and go from there. Ask if they have a love it or return it policy.

Once again, you can't go on brand. You can't even go within the same brand. I was an Asics Landreth person - and then they quit making Landreths. There are *currently* no Asics that work for me. SO, I switched to Saucony Ride 6. But that was all AFTER having a gait analysis redone so that the professional at the store…

I didn't lose weight on c25k - so no story there. BUT - I was like you, wondering each week how on God's green earth was I going to be able to do the next week's challenge. I just took it day by day and eventually, created my own success story... from c25k day 1 on April 19, 2011 to Marathon on November 3, 2012. You can do…

For the OP - go for it. If this is your first, make sure you find an excellent artist. For those who say you'll have to always cover it for any job - my husband is a high school teacher and has both wrists done. Everyone knows and nobody cares. I work in higher ed and have one up the side of my leg, I don't hide it either.…

I lost ZERO pounds by running. I can run a marathon and still weigh the same the next day. LOL

So many people say, "If 2000 is working for you, great. If 1200 is working for you, great." Here's the thing, 1200 will work for anyone UNTIL that person is at goal weight and tries to go back to eating "maintenance." I speak from experience. I did the 1200 calorie thing last year from January - April. I lost almost 20lbs.…

If you have a Trader Joe's - go get their pancake mix. It has a scone recipe on the box...best one I've found. And just add whatever you want - I've done craisins, blueberry, cinnamon chip.

NROL4W Stage 3, workout 1A

I agree with what everyone else has already said. I started with c25k in April 2011 and completed a marathon in November 2012. I did all of that with just 3 runs per week - just upped my mileage using a combo of Hal Higdon and Jeff Galloway.

This is after Stage 2 of NROL4W. I'm also a runner.
