She might look perfectly fine. She might feel perfectly fine. But what the BMI is indicating is what will happen if she continues like this. People realize much too late that their health is at risk and if this letter can push you to go see your doctor and address the issue then the program is working in my opinion.

It's hard but I’ve found a pretty good tool here on MFP that might at least help a little. You have the possibility to enter your recipes on here. For that, you need to break down the ingredients just like doing normal recipe and enter how many it serves. At the end, MFP tells you how much calories each serving has along…

I prefer Bordeaux, more particularly St Emilion :) Can't wait to be finished with this diet to be able to enjoy a glass once in a while.

I wouldn’t have forced myself to eat, no matter what. But, I would’ve ordered at least a coffee or Tea to “accompany” the people at the table. I find it extremely rude to have texted back and forth during your daughters b-day diner. Actually, it’s beyond rude to do that in ANY circumstance. The fact that your wife didn’t…

Exactly! A lot of people think that having Hypothyroidism is preventing them from losing weight but it's actually not true. It's possible; it's just longer and harder than the majority. I also hate it when ppl that don't have Thyroid issues use it as an excuse for gaining so much weight "ohhh my thyroid must be off, i must…

Hi Scott :) I have Hashimoto's Thyroid desease too :) I'm glad i finally find someone who also knows this Thyroid problem. It's not easy and realy unstable but thank god there's treatment ! Friend me if you'd like !

Absolutely, Knowing that i would get remarks, some eye rolling and people saying to themselves that i wouldn’t be able to do it, i kept to myself the fact that i was on a diet. Now that the weight loss is really visible, the few people who’ve started to come forward are either asking me what I’m doing and that I shouldn’t…

x_JT_x I was interested in your story and looked at your diary. One thing that immediately caught my eye is the level of protein. You are pretty much on a high protein diet with low fat and sodium intake (you are doing amazing by the way). What I’m saying is that it looks a lot like my daily diet (didn’t look at the detail…

This is arguably the most complete and understandable explanation i've ever read. It’s simple, to the point and logical. It was a pleasure reading. Thank you very much !

I’ve been counting calories since on the diet for many reasons. The first is to realise what quantity looks like, the value of what I’m eating because when I finish the diet, I’ll still track my daily calories to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, is because I never knew how little calories we eat each day and still…

The thyroid is super difficult to treat. That’s why I always suggest to anyone who suspects they have a problem to go directly to a specialist. It’s not that their normal doctor isn’t good but to each their speciality. If you need to have tests done to your brain you go to a neurologist, so why go to a generalist for…

This for blood work !

Yes, do ask for an ultrasound because it’s the only way they can see if there are nodules and have an accurate reading of your Thyroid. I didn’t know it existed before either until my doctor told me and prescribed it regardless of the blood test results. If that’s normal, then there’s nothing else you can do and you…

Ok So here’s the « downlo » on the Thyroid issue. If your family has a history of Thyroid issues (underactive OR overactive), like any other disease, you are considered high risk for also developing and/or transmitting the disease. The only specialist that can accurately confirm this is an endocrinologist (they often also…

Food: Make you own meals, lots of natural protein and water -> lots of it Exercise: Cardio first (to get your heart rate up and help your body burn a max of fat) weights after (to strengthen and tone)

Hummm… This is an old but interesting subject. To say all ppl are one way or another is being very narrow minded and those who think this way are probably very ill-advised. Nevertheless, saying that you don’t notice nor care about your partners look is too politically correct in my taste to be truly realistic. Of course,…

They don't have a fishy taste just a fishy smell once you open the package. But it all goes away after you wash them, no after taste left. I wouldn't be able to eat them if i couldn't wash it off.

Don't know if this question was asked before but : Have you ever tried to dry fry non tofu based Shirataki noodles ? These are a little more rubbery ( and close to 0 calories ) so i'm wondering how it turned out :)

Hi ! So i'm at 95 or 100 days of diet and i've lost 30lbs. I'm getting close to my goal and can't wait to start stabilization. Haven’t had any major issue with the food, I’m always on the lookout for good ideas but so far so good I’m on a roll and hope to keep going until I finally reach my goal :)

I’m on the Dukan diet and exercise at least twice a week. I started to watch my calories at the same time because I want to understand the value of food and better balance my diet once I’ve finished with this diet. Loosing the weight is not a problem, it’s keeping it off and not putting back on twice as much after you’re…
