Probably should consider getting a trainer. Trainers can teach you so much about strength training. I have had a trainer for over a year and he has taught me so much! A good strength training workout can burn more calories than just using the treadmill or elliptical. Strength moves combined with cardio moves can burn way…

One needs exercise for the heart and overall health even if you do not overeat! It has been shown in various research that exercise helps reduce risks of many types of cancer also. Even if you are healthy now and young and not overweight, not exercising will eventually catch up with you in some form of health problem even…

It is not always about the length of time exercising, but the intensity level. A good intense workout with cardio moves combined with strength/weight training where your heart rate is in the zone for 45 to 60 minutes can be very effective. Again the key is intensity level! My trainer has designed workouts for me that are…

You should not be waking up that hungry. If you are you are not consuming enough calories or as one post mentioned you may need more protein. I read that rule of thumb for protein consumption should be 0.75 to 1 gram of protein per lb of IDEAL body weight. You should not be taking in less than 1200(this is minimum)…

I use the Polar Heart rate monitor, FT4 model. I had to enter all my data, weight, gender, height. The amount of calories you mentioned does sound a little high for walking in the time you mentioned. It is very important vary your workouts. This is to help prevent injury, to alleviate boredom, and to keep the body from getting use to one form of exercise. Strength training is also key. If you just run and do nothing else you are setting yourself up for injury down the road. I do not know if you belong to a gym, but…

Yes HCG is the hormone that is elevated when a woman is pregnant. When taking the hormone I think it has something to do with trying to stablize the insulin level thereby not getting the blood sugar spikes. I would have to do more reading on this. But I know it is NOT recommended. I know that Canada sells HCG.

Yes take them back. HCG is NOT recomended at all. There was another forum I am on and a GYN doctor spoke to this stating that he has been seeing problems in his practice and also something about liver cancer possiblilty. HCG is the hormone that is elevated in pregnancy. I am a retired medical professional and and am not…

Try eating as much fresh as you can, fruit , berries, vegetables. Watch you portions especially meat, fish and chicken. Rule of thumb is that the portion of meat, fish , or chicken should be no bigger than your fist. Go to Target and buy a food scale and start weighing out your food. I bought one for 5 dollars and it works…

Definitely talk with you doctor, and also perhaps a registered dietcian. This is a topic for a medical professional for sure. Chances are that your doctor would probably like to see you lose some weight before becoming pregnant. I am a retired medical professional and would again caution you to talk with you doctor first.…

I believe it is recommended to weigh once a week, same day of the week, same time of day. I weigh myself almost daily to keep everything in check so to speak. If one does weigh daily , always remember that there will be flucuations in weight usually of a few pounds(usually 2 to 3 lbs) depending on fluid intake. To avoid…

Asics are good shoes. I am a neutral runner and wear the Nimbus 13. The best thing to do would be to go to a running store to determine if you have a neutral gait, an overpronator, supinator. There are so many different kinds of running shoes. It is very important to get fitted for the correct shoe. There are motion…
