No, but eating too little can cause numerous other health complications.

It sounds gross to me, and I would not likely be able to stick to it for very long. Phase 2...only meat and veggies and oat bran (gag) for a year??? No thank you.

To gain 5lbs if fat, you would need to eat 17,500 calories in those 4 days.

I just know I eat from 12-8. It’s the same every day so I don’t need an app to remind me, but I can see if you are not as consistent with times that it could be helpful to remember when your fast started.

The only way it helps me with weight loss is that by only eating in an 8 hour window, I can have 2 larger meals and 2 small snacks versus 3 small meals and maybe 1 snack. It just suits me better. I eat from 12-8 because I like a snack after dinner. The first week was a bit hard waiting till 12 to eat but now I’m used to it…

No I don’t think so. I pre log a week in advance most times (for grocery shopping purposes) and every single day I get notifications throughout the day: “You haven’t logged your breakfast yet. Would you like to do that now?” Even though my breakfast has been logged for 3 days. So I don’t think it acknowledges pre logs.

I can’t get past the smell. I’m not a fan.

You are setting yourself up for failure with unrealistic expectations. It is not even close to possible to lose 80lbs by Christmas. That said, intermittent fasting is not a diet. You won’t lose weight doing it unless you cut your calories to whatever MFP sets your calorie goal to. Set your goals to lose 2lbs a week. It…

I do 16:8 every day, so yes, you can!

For me, the appetite suppression that comes with Ketosis is the best part. Now I eat to live instead of living to eat.

I tried to cut the after dinner snack out completely the first week, and it just made me irritable lol...I like my snack 😁 Now I plan for it. I pre log so I always make sure I have calories left over for my snack. Instead of chips or ice cream like I used to have, now I have something smaller, like tonight I had some (12…

No, I don’t think it works that way with supplements. I wouldn’t add it.

I had one removed in 1999, simple surgery, no complications, back to normal in about 3 weeks, maybe a month. It came back (which they warn you about) about 10 years later. I ignored it for over 3 years. By the time I saw a surgeon, it had invaded the tendon sheath and was causing serious damage. I had that one removed in…

I try to follow the same (or as close as possible) eating schedule as I do during the week. Usually everything is a bit later in the day (like breakfast is at 9 rather than 7) but basically eating at the same intervals throughout the day. If I don’t, I’ll do exactly what you described. I also pre log my meals a week in…

They’re a gimmick. Just a marketing ploy to get you to spend money.

I just started, this is so inspiring! Thank you for sharing!!

I just started Keto last week. Feel free to add me if you want to...I’d add you but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet lol

That’s what ended up fixing it.

I see what you did there 😂

Nothing has negative calories. There are a ton of errors in the food database. Yesterday I couldn’t figure out why I was over 100 calories under, then I noticed that I had accidentally logged an entry for cheese that gave it 0 calories instead of 110. If something doesn’t look right, I google the item and see what the USDA…

I do not own a scale. I used to, but I drove myself absolutely crazy obsessing over the numbers every day, sometimes multiple times a day. If I didn’t see a loss, or God forbid I saw a gain, my anxiety level would skyrocket and I’d want to and did eat everything in sight. I just can’t deal with the stress I cause myself by…

I just ordered some zero net carb 90 calorie bagels, zero net carb 45 calorie bread, and 2 net carb snack cakes (I forget the calories on these) from Slim Thins. I can’t wait to try them! They have great reviews. I’ll update after I receive them and taste them.

Thank you so much for all the great info!

@NovusDies Thank you so much for saying that, I needed to hear it. As a nurse I KNOW 800 calories a day is not safe OR sustainable long term, but I was excited by the thought of dropping a bunch in 4 months. Seeing that the difference is basically only 13lbs, I decided to up my intake to the 1200 suggested and although I…

I’m not the OP, but I was going to ask that question myself. I had 2 surgeries on my cervical spine 8 weeks ago, and I won’t be cleared to do anything more strenuous than a short walk for another 4 months. I’d love to reap the health benefits of exercise right now, but I just can’t.

I do that too. It helps me stay on track knowing what I’m going to eat, it’s so much less stressful for me than logging it after I eat and finding out I went way over. I only grocery shop once a week, so I have to meal plan before I shop so I know what to buy.

Have you tried monkfruit sweetener? I just bought some, going to try it in my coffee tomorrow. I tasted a little bit, and it is very sweet with none of the fake sugar sugar substitutes fake aftertaste.
