Soy products, milk, tofu, etc. Dark, leafy greens. Grilled and stir-fried veggies may be more palatable, if he gives them a try. A veggie diet without veggies sounds like a lot of protein and fat, so I hope he can overcome his dislikes and expand his choices. Good luck!

Being consistently below your calories will cause your body to go into starvation mode. This actually makes it harder to lose weight, because your body is panicked that it isn't getting enough food and will store calories quicker and burn them slower. I don't worry about eating late or right before I go to bed. If I am hungry and have a few calories left, I eat. It works for me, but not for everyone. If it doesn't affect your sleep, then why not? One day below your calorie limit is OK, but a few in a row and your body will be starving. Good luck!

I don't worry about when I eat. I eat when I am hungry. If I eat late, I usually record for the day before I go to sleep. So, if it is past midnight, I'll record it for the previous day. When I wake up, I start recording for that day. Good luck!

If I work out early in the morning, I will drink 4oz of juice. It keeps me from getting light-headed after the workout. I don't believe that you will burn more calories by not eating before a workout.

Mmmm, some good ideas here! Don't forget that some crunchy snacks may be a little too "loud" for a movie theater. After I started MFP, I would usually eat a meal or snack before and then only drink water during the movie. Some fruit does sound good, though. Maybe some melon or strawberries or .... ?

I eat when I am hungry, including after 7pm, as late as 11pm. I don't think it makes a big difference, at least not that I have noticed in my sleep and weight loss. Good luck!

It is hard to say for certain, but your body could be in starvation mode from a lack of calories. I would suggest eating at least some of your exercise calories. Maybe that will help kick your system back into normal mode. Good luck!

Welcome back! When you start tracking you food again, my guess is that you will discover that you may have been eating too much. Best of luck and don't ever give up!
